that phrase is used too often, but in this case I really mean it. Spending a few hours with Jared was not only about seeing wildlife (which we did) or finding out about Estes Park (which we did), but also about interesting conversation on a wide range of subjects - population, evolution, ecology, environment - the universe!
Thanks Jared. We hope to travel with you again soon.

Jared was an outstanding guide in every way! Prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable! We took a wildlife safari tour and added landscapes on the tundra the first day, June 14th, and a sunrise hiking tour to Dream Lake on June 15th, 2014. Jared is a great photography instructor, helping with settings, composition, lighting, and lots of photography tips to help you remember how to determine the best settings for each photo. He had equipment to enhance our own for capturing the best photos-long telephoto lenses, tripods, and filters. In addition, he had equipment that we needed for hiking - headlights to see in the dark, hiking sticks and even snow cleats because there was still lots of snow as we reached the top near Dream Lake. It was a very cold and windy morning, and I was glad for every one of the six layers I had on, and Jared knew where to get the best shots under those conditions. We never would have seen so much and gotten such great photos without him, and it was a great learning experience! Thanks again, Jared, for everything. We had a great time on both tours with you!!! Jared took my daughter and out on Father's Day (6/15/14) for a great photo tour. We both learned a lot from him. And he worked patiently with her to teach her how to use her Nikon, photo skills, and such she would not have learned in school.

My husband and I had two sessions with Jared on a recent visit to RMNP. His entire focus was to make our experience enjoyable, and to share his knowledge and love of the area. Jared is a wizard with the camera, and was able to help customize my equipment to obtain the results I wanted. His knowledge of wildlife, and the surrounding landscape, was astounding. As a naturalist and photographer, Jared is able to help capture the experience in a way that can be savored for a lifetime...and we will.

We took an snowshoeing tour with Jared on April 24, 2014 and really did not know what to expect since neither of us had ever been snowshoeing. We met Jared at the Visitor center and climbed into his well equipped SUV and proceeded on the drive to Estes Park/Rocky National Park. In order to ensure that we were going to have a great hike, Jared asked specific questions as to our experience with snowshoeing/hiking and our physical fitness level and specifically what we wanted to see (animals, flowers, etc.) and what we wanted to know (geology/glacial geology). Jared gave us a quick lessons of the dos and don'ts of snowshoeing and we were off on our adventure. We hiked for about 4.5 hours and conquered narrow ledges and windy conditions on our ascent and slide down some hillsides (what fun) during our decent. As others have said Jared is a encyclopedia of knowledge; from showing us how to determine the age of pine trees, to evaluating coyote tracks we saw, to knowing that the sounds that the squirrels were making meant that we were not welcome and to explaining to us the fibonacci numbers/geometry (numbers that seem to have a magical predictive power) by looking at the bottom of a pine cone. On our drive back to the visitor center Jared pointed out; elk, wild turkeys and magpies and provided information on their habitat, breeding and how each helps the environment. I highly recommend Jared, not only is he extremely knowledgeable and intelligent; he is also a thoughtful, caring and encouraging person.

Jared it was a great pleasure meeting you! Hopefully we will see you soon! (Christine Gamboa)
