We only had one day to spend in Estes Park, and wanted to make the most of it. We traveled to the park from the Granby area, and took Trailbridge Road to get to Estes Park. Once we were there, we were informed that the tour took us up Trailbridge Road and back. We had just seen the entire tour from our car getting there. We were expecting it to be more on the backroads. Our tour left late, and we felt that it was very rushed. The tour took us up the mountain on Trailbridge Road, and back down the mountain. Once we were able to get out of the jeep, we asked if we could walk to the top of the walkway. We were told that there is not any time for that since we had to be back to the jeep within 10-15 minutes.

Only being in Estes Park for two nights we wanted to maximise our experience of the area. The Rocky Mountains Experience tour seemed an ideal tour to achieve this outcome.

It was and still is advertised as a jeep tour that " During the course of the tour we will navigate 12 miles of switchbacks on a dirt road". Well! For nearly twelve months this dirt road has not been accessible due to flood damage.

We booked the tour six months ago, I had two phone conversations and one email from the company, at no time did they explain that this tour, as advertised was unavailable and suggest a different tour. We did not become aware of the change in tour until we were loaded onto the jeep.

What we experienced was a ride in a jeep up a paved road and back. As we are riding a motorcycle the experience of this road would have given us greater pleasure if we had been on our motorcycle.

To add to the negative experience the PA system was not functional and in the rear of the jeep the commentary could not be heard. The poor tour guide in trying to yell above the road noise lost her voice.

The tour guide and staff were pleasant and friendly.

We went on this trip with two teenage boys and we found it an excellent start to our three day trip at Rocky Mountain Park. I can't say enough good things about our driver Lana who had incredible knowledge about the park and the overall area. We had been to RMNP in the past but we learned more on this half day adventure.

I booked these tickets only because my husband wanted to go. From the moment we met our guide Lana, it was an excellent experience. She is knowledgable, fun, personable and you can tell that she loves what she does! The Rocky Mountain Experience is worth it! And when you are asked if you want to go to the visitors center, or the Continental Divide...choose the Continental a Divide. Our entire family (including kids 11 and 9) loved it!

Do this trip when you first get to Estes Park. You get a 7 day park pass with your tour that you will need to even drive through RMNP. The tour was great. Our driver was knowledgeable about different areas of the park and made it a good time. And you have a really great view from the back of the Jeep.
