“Clean, Reasonably Cheap, Good Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

If you're not going to spend much time in the room (and that is not the reason you visit RMNP), then this place is ideal. Clean, free breakfast, good location, and less expensive than other lodging. Stayed 2 nights, July 23 and 24, 2 queen bed studio, 3-4 people in the room. Pool and jukuzi were decent. Staff was good. Continental breakfast was a continental breakfast. There are pet friendly and non-pet friendly rooms.

Room Tip: There are pet friendly and non-pet friendly rooms.

We stayed two nights at the Hotel Estes on July 17 and 18. The rate was reasonable. Our two boys age 6 and 2 really like the pool (which is heated) and both hot tubs. The playground was dated, but was a nice bonus for the kids.

Our room was impeccably clean and the continental breakfast was more than adequate to satisfy our breakfast needs. They offered donuts, coffee, milk, toaster waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and cherry bear claws. The front desk area always had bottled water available which we used while hiking.

The only complaint I have is that prior to our stay, I emailed the hotel two times with questions regarding information about Estes Park and no one responded to my emails.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 108 which has a room of a metal building. Not exactly the view we were hoping for...

Our family of four had never been to estes park and had no clue where to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The laundry room was small, 1 washer and 1 dryer, but did the job. The rooms were nicely furnished and made for a wonderful stay. We want to return to Estes Park again but are bringing more people with us. We will be getting a cabin or vacation home. Otherwise we would return to hotel estes. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

We stayed 3 nights here and loved it. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and had awesome views of the mountains.

Down fall was the play ground n the laundry room. There was one nice grill at the front of the office but know one told us we could use it. Plus there was a lot fire pits and we would have loved to have a little bomb fire but once again we didn't know if we could use them. But we would stay here again.

As we were leaving we noticed them unloading a trailer full of comforters. I just hope you are donating the used one to a homeless shelter or too family's that could use them.

And yes, the facilities around the property are for guests and they are more than welcome to use them! And we appreciate you mentioning the donation of old comforters. We did donate them to a shelter. Thank you for the input and we will hopefully see you again soon!

We happened upon Hotel Estes when we got delayed on our hike through Rocky Mountain National Park and needed a place to stay for the night. I have to say that it greatly exceeded our expectations. The place is very clean, the rooms are spacious and well-decorated (I think the hotel was recently remodeled). My wife was particularly impressed with the nice rustic-style furniture. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast in the morning is excellent. Oh, and the view of the mountains from the hotel is indeed quite beautiful. If you are looking for a moderately priced hotel that's comfortable and friendly, look no further. If our travels bring us to Estes Park area in the future, we'll definitely stay in Hotel Estes again.

We stumbled across the hotel as our reservations in Grand Lake were canceled. The front desk help was very nice and friendly. The room was very clean and well decorated. We had a great view out our window of RMNP. What a treat in the mooring when we opened the binds to see what the weather was like.

Bed was comfortable and although bathroom was small it was nice and clean.

Very close to Estes Park downtown.

Will stay here again if back in area.

Room Tip: Rooms in the first building have a better view of the mountains and 2nd floor of course a but better...

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Estes.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was huge, with lots of storage, fridge, and microwave. Free wifi. Iron and ironing board available on request, but not standard in every room.

Cons: The playground area was mostly used as a doggy poop spot, and the equipment was not in good shape at all and geared towards older kids. Not at all safe for preschool age and under. We ended up going to a playground in downtown EP along the riverwalk instead. Their crib was also a very beat up pack n' play... the bottom sagged big time and there were holes in the mesh sides.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We do have an awesome staff. We agree about the play set. We actually ordered a new play set about a week ago. It will be at the hotel in the next two weeks and will be a child friendly, new set. Due to your review, we had our housekeepers sort through all of the pack and plays today. They did find one that was a little worn and replaced it today. We hope to see you again at Hotel Estes! Thank you for the input!
