This was our second week long stay at Glacier Lodge. Because we booked so late we had to switch cabins mid-week. BTW, their website is excellent, allowing you to easily see what cabins are available on what dates. At any rate, we stayed for a few nights in one of the newer cabins up by the stables. It had one bath, one bedroom and a loft bedroom overlooking the living area. Like the last time we stayed here the cabin was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was not fancy but it was modern. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The rest of our stay was in a cabin with an identical floorplan but closer to the pool - this cabin was older. The kitchen, in particular, looked a little more dated - nevertheless this cabin was also very clean and nice.

Since our last stay they have upgraded their wireless capability. It more easily reaches the cabins - we had much better wifi in the older cabins, which are marginally closer to the office.

The family who owns Glacier Lodge are friendly without being intrusive. They provide a morning paper and firewood daily. This is a nice place to stay in an excellent location.

Room Tip: The cabins by the stables and by the pool are large and private. Some of the cabins on the river are duplex, and maybe tripex units.

We stayed with 6 other families/couples in the Timber Lodge Cabin. Cabin has a nice common area and nice big kitchen with 2 stoves and a huge refrigerator to accomodate a large group of people. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very small. But when you have 6 bedrooms upstairs that can be expected I guess. Everything was very clean. Walls are a bit thin and the floor very nosy. We had two little ones who loved to run around in the early morning and it could be heard by everyone upstairs. Beds were a little hard. Deck was very nice. The fireplace inside the cabin was awesome. We were there for the Scottish Festival. Town was busy. We went to Rocky Mtn National Park to the Bear Lake area. Took a nice long hike towards Bierstadt Lake, went about halfway, turned around and walked around Bear Lake. Very nice, Beautiful Pic's! Took a horseback ride on property. $35 for one hour was a good deal. Guide was nice, the one hour ride was just long enough for us. Love Estes Park.

A comfortable cabin in the mountains just a few feet from a rushing mountain stream is the perfect setting for a great vacation. This is what Glacier Lodge provides. This facility is well managed and well maintained. The location is convenient to the National Park and the village of Estes Park.

This past May/June 2011 was our 11th consecutive year to stay at Glacier. I guess you could say we love Glacier. There isn't anything negative to report. The owners are like family to us and take the time to visit even though they have other tasks. The grounds are immaculate, the cabins clean and well cared for, stocked with just enough of the essentials to make our stay relaxing and worry free. We find their rates to be in line with other establishments in the area and well worth the money. The charm and family atmosphere is truly the best.
We have the upmost respect for the Ranglos family. They put their heart and soul into Glacier Lodge and it shows. This is the only place we will stay when we visit the RCNP in the springtime and look forward to year # 12.
