“Christmas in the Rockies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2012

Checked in the Friday before Christmas with plans to depart on January 2nd. We were having such a great time snowshoeing, with the help of the Rams Horn staff we were able to extend our stay until the 7th. Our cabin was exceptionally clean, the view of the mountains beyond description and the resort staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. The amenities were all superb; great fitness center and the on-site availability of free washers and dryers was a nice touch. And, all of this within five minutes of the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park or the City of Estes Park. Best Christmas and New Years we have ever experienced! If you plan to see RMNP, and everyone should at least once in their life, we highly recommend you stay at Rams Horn.

Great customer service, best attention to details and townhouse-like homes (duplexes) makes this place feel like home. Some homes have gorgeous view of snow capped Long's Peak. At only a mile of Rocky Mountain National Park, this is the most comfortable you can get while "roughing it". If you would like the save money go during the off season like early November or early December, when there are few tourist around. Go into Rocky Mountain National Park and you get to see more wild animals because they tend to roam around when they don't see a lot of people. Also best for cross-country skiing.

Rams Horn Village is pretty much the best run place we go. The cabins are comfortable, modern and very clean. Each bedroom provides a private area and the beds are new and very comfortable. Parking is right at your door and you are less than five minutes drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. There is a lovely little pool and a small workout room as well. The staff is outstanding and very welcoming. The town of Estes Park is also less than five minutes away and offers many nice shops and excellent restaurants. Highly recommended for any time of year.

Room Tip: All are equally nice

Rams Horn is situated very close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. We have been going there for many years and we always stay at beautiful Rams Horn. The staff is wonderful and the units are very clean. They come in and do a mid-week cleaning and give you clean towels at that time. There is a heated pool, three hot tubs, playground, free games, movies, bikes, work-out room, gas grills and more. They offer free cribs, high chairs, etc. if you have an infant. They have a laundry room with free washers and dryers. The kitchens are brand new with stainless steel appliances and equiped with everything you would ever need. Also, new, top of the line mattresses on all beds.

You can usually tell if a person likes a place if they go there again. This holds so true for Rams Horn. Once again we enjoyed ourselves very much as did the Grandkids and their parents. Not often you can find a good wholesome place for the entire family but Rams Horns can and does with exceptional ability. The area provides many outdoor activities, hiking trails, and downtown activities after a excellent evening meal in the cabin or one of the restaurants. This is not a Jet Set environment but good wholesome family togetherness.

Room Tip: Just pick one you can't go wrong.

We have been going up to beautiful Estes Park for over 26 years and have stayed in many, many places. The Ram's Horn Village is by far our favorite vacation place. It depicts Colorado living with it's cozy cabins that are fully equipped for cooking, a fireplace for chillin, a gas grill for a bbq, hot tubs for relaxing, a pool for fun in the sun, a rec room to work off all the calories, and the location is great. The units have always been clean, the staff friendly and professional. We most enjoy a day of hiking and then strolling over to the Rock Inn for delicious food, music all in an intimate atmosphere to include a stoked wood burning stove. We just celebrated another anniversary here and as always, have been refreshed and our souls renewed. We are already looking forward to another trip and just unpacked!

Stayed here with my family and another family last summer for a week and had a great experience. The property was clean. The kids enjoyed the pool, playground and being able to check out games and toys from the clubhouse. I enjoyed the hot tub that was right behind our cabin. We took advantage of the grill for one meal. We took turns lying in the various hammocks spread throughout the property. They had an ice cream social for the guests one afternoon. I needed to print out tickets and their guest computers weren't working, but I went into the main office and they just invited me back behind the desk to use their computer/printer with no hassle whatsoever. Easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.

If I wanted to be picky, the only thing I would change is to make the living room a little bigger in the cabin we stayed in, but we let the kids watch a movie in there and the adults just hung out in the spacious dining area.

Will definitely try to stay here again when we go back to the area.
