“Great Place in Estes Park”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

We had gone past the Saddle and Surrey on several trips to Estes Park. The friends we traveled with this past week had stayed there before and booked the rooms. All of the reviews we had been reading before the trip were spot on. It is clean and comfortable as well as being affordable. Barb was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat as well as letting us know about area attractions. We will be staying there again.

This is a wonderful place to stay!!! This is not a chain and it is dated and older, but it is very clean and the rates are very reasonable. It is a couple miles out of town, but that is absolutely NO big deal. Very easy to get back into town. The rooms are VERY spacious. Barbara was absolutely wonderful from making our reservation a few months ago to the moment we walked in, she wanted to make sure that the room was ok and that you were comfortable. My nephew said the pool was great!!

We had a change of plans that left us without a campground one night. All of the in town Estes park hotels were out of our price range. Some of the cheap ones looked too unmmmm, cheap! Getting desperate, we drove out of town and saw this place. Went in and asked for a room. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful! She showed us the room first, asked if it was ok. We said it was perfect. She ended up taking $10 off the original price quoted..,.just because! The bed was so comfy! The sheets and pillowcases were nicer than mine at home! The TV was brand new. Thr couch was comfy too. The breakfast the next morning was far better than expected: about 8 different pastries from the local bakery! Can't say enough good things about this little gem!

This is a BUDGET MOTEL, not a luxurious hotel. It was reasonable CLEAN and it had a 30 inch tv and wi fi and and air conditioning. The rooms are large. The owners are very nice and accomodating. I would highly reccomend it if you are on a budget. It is about 2 miles from downtown and we enjoyed not being in the hustle and bustle of the downtown district. of course you can see the mountains from the motel.

We had no expectations for Estes or this motel despite reading the trip advisor reviews for it before we booked. Upon check-in, everything was personalized and friendly. We got directions to things in town and advice on drinking lots of water in the high elevation. When we entered our room, I was pleased to find it spacious and very clean. We have stayed in quite a few places this trip and this was by far the cleanest. It is an older place, but I never thought about that as it is kept so clean. We only had one night, but I would have been happy staying longer. All the details in this room were attended to. There was even a night light to plug in the bathroom if you'd like and a make-up remover wrapped up and ready to use. Estes is a great place to spend some time. A cute town and lots to do with rocky mountain national park nearby. We ate a smokin Dave's and it was good, but very crowded on a Tuesday evening. I'd stay here again without hesitation and hope we do get back to Estes soon.

You will NOT find a better motel. In Estes Park or anyplace else. Our nightly rate totaled $93 and some cents. We got a king bed, AC, WiFi, cable TV, and continental breakfast. Barbara and her husband, Max (?), were always friendly and helpful. Basically, whatever they can do to make you happy, they'll do it!

And clean!!! After the housekeepers finish for the day, Barbara does a recheck to make sure everything is perfect, and performs any needed redo's herself!

Now, we've stayed at just about every hotel/motel in town over the years, except this one. We decided to give it a shot, because our son and his family discovered it and love it. It should be needless to say at this point, but --- we'll be staying here from now on.

Trip Advisor has never steered me wrong yet. This motel is rated number one for a reason. Clean, comfortable and priced right!!! Owners will assist you in anyway they can. Information is abundant and if you want something (coffee pot in your room) they will get it for you. It is a great place to stay. If you are staying in Estes for a few days I would recommend at least one meal be at Smokin Daves! Crowded, but food is wonderful and price is great. Hunters Point also has very good food. Service was okay but the food made up for it. Little more higher end but again well worth it.
