I stayed for four nights and the only complaint I had was the older, quite soft mattress in Room 15. I had read in other reviews that the mattresses were very comfortable and I assume it is because those people liked soft mattresses. For those who need a firmer mattress, this is not the place to stay. I was impressed by the immaculately clean room, except for the carpeting which needed cleaning. I would have liked a coffee-maker in the room, but can understand why some hotels don't furnish those. There are coffee and pastries in the office each morning. One of the owners was very unfriendly, while the other was charming and helpful. The only reason I would not stay here again is because of the soft mattress.

The folks at the Saddle & Surrey Motel were so gracious and helpful during the recent monsoon flooding in CO. After camping for several days in rainy Rocky Mountain National Park we were intending to head to Boulder when the washed out roads and stranded us in Estes Park.

We decided to stay here and got a nice, clean, very affordable room for what ended up being two nights. We were able to dry off, watch the news, and stay dry after days of being very wet. During the first night, half the motel was flooded and guests were forced to evacuate to the local Red Cross shelter. 3 feet of water had built up against the back of the motel and eventually broke through in a torrential waterfall.

Our room was spared, but we couldn't go anywhere the next day because of road closures. Despite the fact that the motel owners were up all night fighting the water and trying to dry out the office, as well as their home in back, they were accommodating and gracious. Even apologetic they couldn't provide the usual morning pastries and coffee.

I can't say enough about what a nice motel this is, and, more importantly, what great people the owners and staff are!!

We will definitely be staying here again! Our room was perfectly cleaned, shiny bathroom floors, fluffy towels and comfortable beds. We didn't try breakfast as we wanted to eat in town. Only complaint was the toilet needed to be flushed two times with each use but it never backed up.

We were pleasantly surprised by this nice motel. The owners were very pleasant, and gave is suggestions on where to eat in town, and hikes to take. The room was spotless, bed was comfortable and pillows were nice. Thick, plush towels in the bathroom. Has a great night's sleep here too.

We went here based on other TA reports and were not disappointed, in fact were rather pleased. We rented the room with the kitchenette, it had a couch, recliner and table for four along with full size frig, stove and microwave. The bathroom was large and every inch of the place was spotless and without flaw. The area was very quiet and only about 5 minutes from downtown Estes and the grocery store. While we didn't actually cook, the coffeepot, frig and microwave were used often. The continental breakfast was stuff from Costco or Sams Club which never disappoints me. Owners were both nice and offered suggestions for getting around. If I go back I will stay there again!
