Looking at previous reviews it is clear that opinions vary greatly about this hotel. Well first the negative point for me ... the exterior of the property is in bad shape, the woodwork is rotting in parts and needs painting soon.

However, when we entered the building we were struck by the well furnished, spacious lounge and reception area. The front desk staff were very helpful and efficient, check-in was over in an instant and they happily gave us directions. If you are on the upper floor, they have a lift off the lounge area.

We had a premium room with a microwave and small fridge, paying an extra $10 for that. It included a flat screen TV and a table to work at. The bathroom was of a good size with good quality fittings. We had absolutely no complaints about the cleanliness of the room. From our (small) balcony we had a good view across the lake.

Breakfast was above the standard we have found in other hotels that charge a similar price. They had all the usual cereals, breads, juices, but also waffles, hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit. There are more than enough tables to sit at and the man attending the area was very diligent about keeping everything stocked up.

We used the pool and found the temperature fine, though a section of the flooring seems to have come unstuck. So like the exterior, this looks to be another area that requires some attention and investment by the owners.

Rodeway Inn is not a luxury hotel, to get that in Estes Park you will have to pay a lot more, but it most certainly is NOT dirty and poorly run. For the price, I thought it was very decent.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the lake and pay the extra $10 for a fridge & microwave.

It was not a very satisfactory experience. My son and his wife were given the key to an occupied room, and when we approached the front desk to explain that the room was already in use the office staff was very nonchalant, we had to actually ask for another room. The bathrooms were extremely dirty so we cleaned them. I am assuming that the housekeeping crew was overwhelmed. I stay in choice hotel properties frequently and this is the worst experience that I have ever had, definitely would not recommend.

Rolling into Estes Park on Saturday evening without reservations may doom you a stay in this relic from the '50s, where you'll pay about $140 nightly! Worn in every way and tattered beyond belief, the city of Estes Park should condemn this place as a blight on its reputation. Sleep in your car or simply walk the streets all night, but avoid This dump at all costs!

I only stayed at this hotel for a very short time before waking up early to hike the next morning in Rocky National Park. It was much better than I expected (especially for the complementary breakfast), but it did the job. I would stay here again for the cheap price.

Room Tip: Breakfast is great!

I stayed here for four nights in august 2011. This hotel may look a little boring from the outside but it’s actually almost charming when you get inside of those grey walls. Lobby is comfortable and the service is very friendly. Breakfast is good enough and fresh. Wifi seems to be ok for most of the time but there are some occasional problems not lasting too long though. Rooms are clean and spacious. Beds are nice too. Television wasn´t quite to my expectations but hey- you get what you pay for. Views depend on which room you get but they are pretty much ok in all cases I think.

I booked myself to this hotel because it was one of the most reasonable priced of the area but still located close enough to Estes Park. The Visitor center is just a fifteen minutes walk away and in the summertime there are several free shuttles that take you around Estes Park. One of them stops right in front of the hotel twice in hour starting from 10 am. If you have your own car you get to downtown in just minutes (there’s Safeway too just around the corner).

I would stay here again. I truly appreciated the quietness of the night hours and the peaceful location.

Most of the reviews for inexpensive motels in Estes Park were very bad. This one had fewer negative comments so we gave it a try. It is an older structure and not that pretty. But the room was nice and large and clean. The common area was large and had lots of sitting area. The breakfast was a little sparse but did have two waffle makers which makes it much better than some with lots of tables at which to eat (some only have a couple). I would stay therer again. Good value for the price! It had a pool and spa but we did not check it out.
