“Now our favorite place to stay in Estes Park, CO”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

Our first time staying at Deer Crest Resort will definitely not be our last. We are already planning to return in Fall 2014 for another stay at the resort. Our second floor room (#203) was very large with two queen beds, hotel size refrigerator with freezer, a microwave, table and two chairs plus other amenities inside the room. Outside was a table with chairs for each unit. Other room types are available at this resort. Hotel does have an indoor hot tub with towels available. The rooms and entire premises were extremely clean. Owner Ken was very friendly and accommodating. This resort is located between Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park so it is an excellent location when staying in the area. Definitely consider this resort if you are looking for adult-only non-smoking lodging.

Room Tip: Room #203 was large with two queen beds with a view of the stream. This room can be accessed without...

There is a lot of choice in Estes Park for those looking for mid-range motels/hotels to stay in, Heck, there's at least 4-5 on the same strip as Deercrest.

Here's why you should stay here: The owners are absolutely fantastic. I had some travel issues on the way there and it wasn't a problem. I got a massive king-sized room for a very, very reasonable rate. Sure, it wasn't the most modern...but it had wifi, a kitchenette, and a bathroom that truly was sparkling,

After checking out, the owner was very helpful in giving me directions on how to best enjoy my limited time in the area. This was worth its weight in gold to me as it meant I could maximise my time.

So in short - go visit Estes Park. The locals can use your tourist dollars no matter where you stay and it is a little town with an absolutely stunning backdrop. And feel confident in your choice of Deercrest. :-)

Room Tip: If only staying for one night, call them first. They can waive the 2 night minimum stay if it's...

This adult-only non-smoking lodging does not have a lot of street appeal, but the rooms are spacious and clean, and the location right on Fall River just can't be beat! Beautiful grounds with benches, picnic tables, grills and a lovely firepit area. The owners are friendly and accommodating. This place is my favorite!

We took advantage of the 15% discount offered by TripAdvisor and made the reservation by phone, which was smooth and easy. We needed to extend our stay by one day, and that was easily taken care of with another quick phone call. Our room was exactly as promised - roomy, clean, comfortable, and tranquil. We loved the proximity to the Fall River and the plethora of hummingbirds that drank from the feeders hanging from our porch. The owners of the place were extremely helpful and made us felt at home. Shortly after our trip, parts of Estes Park were inundated by the 100-year flood of 2013. We very much hope that Deer Crest Resort emerged unscathed, since we would love to stay there again.

Room Tip: Fireplaces are available in select rooms.

The views are spectacular, the property is well maintained, the owners and staff are the best. Ken and Carrie have spoiled me, I call the Deer Crest office and say hello, it's Mary Pat from Parker and they instantly reserve my favoite room. I highly recommend staying there simply because the Fall River runs through their property. The rooms are clean and comfortable and each come with a private patio set. They have bbq grills, picinc tables and chairs sitting right on the river. Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park is only a few minutes away.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the lower level facing the back side. My favoirte is #104, #105 and #106 only steps a...

we stay here almost every time we come to estes park. The place is AWESOME. Ken and Carrie who own the place are THE BEST!!!!! they go over and beyond to make sure you stay is the best. Located on the Fall River--walk right outside your room and you have the river. Listening to the river at night is so peaceful. its so peaceful and beautiful. The grass is always sooo green. they are close to town. the rooms are the best. I just love it there. As soon as the except pets--my husband and I will be there all the time. (We just got a dog about a year ago)

Deer Crest is a wonderful place to go to "wind down" and enjoy life and the beautiful scenery around you! The staff is friendly and helpful in finding just the right places to go and the right restaurants to enjoy a night out with great food! Estes Park is made up of some of the nicest people you could ever meet. I never met a "stranger" while visiting there! The rooms at Deer Crest are cozy and a fireplace to warm you if that is your desire. Very clean and a small kitchen with all the things you might need to stay in and enjoy a meal or snack. Had every thing I needed within reach. The River flowing behind the resort held a view of the native wildlife. I have only been there once, so far, but intend on going back as often as I can. The week I was there last year, I had warm sunshine then got to experience SNOW too! It was like a "Fairy Land" of Beauty. Something for everyone.
