If you're too tired to hike another trail, but you love the views, this is a great option. The kids loved feeding the chipmunks, and we caught a light lunch at the snackbar.
Some of the trails were more difficult for Grandma, but she still had a great view from the easier sites.

The wait to get on can be long, but for the price this is a must-do. The view from the tram as you glide up and down Prospect Mountain is wonderful. At the top, there's a little shop where you can buy pop and pre-made sandwiches (avoid the pizza) and buy souvenirs. There are some trails and someone in our group got to see a deer very close up. This was a very fun activity for a day in town.

My husband and I took the tram just to kill some time between other activities we had planned in Estes Park. It is $12 per adult to go up and back, I personally think it could be just a little less. The tram itself is large enough to fit 6-7 adults comfortably, and the windows and open air side of the tram allow for good picture taking on the way up and back down.

The views from the top are gorgeous, great for seeing all of Estes and beyond, great spot to take pictures! There are tons of little chipmunks running around, obese from all the peanuts they have been fed (you can buy peanuts at the gift shop)! We were warned by a local not to touch these little guys, as some have been reported to be carrying the plague. Overall I would say this is more of a thing to do if you have time, or are trying to kill some time; not necessarily a "must see".

Estes Park Aerial Tramway was a great way to see the beautiful views from the top of the mountain. There were plenty of places to hike and take photographs. Nice store to rest and get a cold drink. I was also very impressed with the attention of the staff we had a wheelchair and they helped make the experience wonderful.

We drove into Estes park for a day, ad were looking for something to do. We really enjoyed the tram ride. We had our two year old grand child with us, so wanted something that would entertain her also. The views were great. At the top we went on a 2 Miles hike to the peak. My grand daughter enjoyed getting to feed chipmunks peanuts, which they sell in the gift shop at the top. My husband loved the nostalgia of the old cars they have been using from the 50's and the little bit of history. It would be great if they fixed up the gift store. Has so much potential for a restaurant also..
