“How AWESOME Was This Place?!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

This was my second time to stay at the Colorado Cottages. I stayed in the Iris Cottage both times and had plenty of room for one person. The owners were fantastic and very accommodating. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I'll be back.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary. We stayed in the Bluebird which was perfect for us! John, Carolyn, and Dharma (their delightful dog) made us feel right at home! They are such wonderful people and have a bonfire every night from 8-10 for guests to talk about what they did that day. Oh and smores are included too...which my husband loved! The cottages are right near the entrance to the RMNP which is very convenient but also close to town! I highly recommend staying here and when we return to Estes Park we will definitely be staying here again!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Timberline Cottage. It was just right for 2 of us, although the bathroom was a bit small. The cottages are located so close to the entrance to the park, and about a mile from the main section of Estes. It was nice to be close, yet away from the craziness of the "downtown" area. The hot tub was fabulous and the nightly campfire was fun. Happy travelers stay here!

We loved our stay in 'Iris', the cutest little cabin you could imagine. Yes we have stayed in 'swisher' cabins but do you really need swish in a cabin, I don't think so. Iris was simple and rustic and at the same time spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly require.
We enjoyed the nightly campfires where you could meet other guests and exchange tales of the adventures of the day and of course the smores [which coming from England we had never heard of].
The whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The owners Carolyn and John were well travelled and very interesting to chat to, they were also very helpful and thoughtful, Carolyn even bought some John Wayne dvds so that we could watch them in our cabin when she found that my husband was a big fan.
The location near to the entrance to Rocky Mountain national park was great as we didn't have to cope with the Estes Park traffic . We even had Elk right outside our window in the evenings . Excellent value for money , if you are going to this area then you must stay here. Oh and Dharma the dog is lovely.

Pleasantly surprised with this rustic cottage. Very clean and as some of the other reviewers said the owners were so friendly and helpful. Our kids and grandkids stayed at the Moraine Park campground so for us it was so convenient to be with them and be able to come back at night to a comfortable cottage. Bed was also very comfortable. Would definitely go back and stay.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Bluebird cottage which worked for us.

Simple, rustic, nothing fancy. Innkeepers were very pleasant, helpful and friendly and have the best dog in the world (after mine). Charming nightly campfire complete w/s'mores. Units are comfortable, thoughtfully equipped, very clean & well maintained. Heartening to know that there are still funky little independently operated places like this. Really enjoyed our stay; great value.

Our Cottage was really cute and very clean with everything we could need while we were there and more. We were lucky enough to be able to add a night to our reservation after we got there because we liked it there so much! The owners were very friendly and helpful with information. They even have a nightly campfire with smores. We were hoping to make it to one but we never did because we were so busy trying to do all we could in the beautiful area in the short time we were there. We definitely want to go back!
