what a great place to stay. i stay in 2004 during the sturgis ralley in south dakota and went to estes park and found this wonderful place called whispering pines. i looked it up 9 years later and there it was so i booked a week for me and the wife and told her you'll just love this place. when we got there everything was what the lady said price was great, cabin wonderful, it made our vacation just great. we road our trike out there from missouri. this was the week of july the 1st to the 9th. the place is so cool with the big thompson right next to our cabin, i could see trout right from our deck. left the window open all week to hear the river that was cool. 70's during the day and 40's or 50' at night good weather. i give the place a+ in my book. love it. i hope everybody's okay after the flood sept. 11 i hope it didn't get our cabin #5 hope everybody is okay.

Room Tip: next time , bigger room

We stayed here for one night although we originally wanted two but they were full. We hadn't pre-booked and after trying about 6 hotels on the same road, which the cheapest was USD 220 we stumbled upton this place and what a find!
We stayed in one of the smallest cabins but it was plenty big enough for two. Had a shower, microwave and double bed. It was quaint.
Can't say we heard a thing in the night but perhaps September is quieter.
They was a terrace at the back with a table and two benches and then a table, two chairs and a BBQ between the terrace and the river.
We loved it.

Room Tip: We had number 11 which is one of the smallest but I think they would all be lovely.

We loved Whispering Pines. This was our first visit to Colorado and such a great place to stay. The location is perfect - away from the crowds in Estes Park, but close enough to everything we wanted to do. The cabin is small, but had a deck on the back overlooking the river, and chairs to sit in that were closer to the water. No air conditioning, but good breezes thru the cabin. Everything was very clean and very well maintained. We were not able to park beside our cabin because the space was too small, so they provided a space just a few steps away. We had such a great time!

Great location just outside of town..maybe a 5 minute drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Our little guy loved the playset and toys provided. We loved sitting by the river and seeing wildlife (saw elk right next to our cabin, coyote and deer across the river, lots of birds). The cabin itself (we stayed in #16) was basic but clean..perfect for us. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area!

My family stayed here for the 4th of July Holliday and we greatly enjoyed it. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin that was small but all we needed. The cabin and grounds were clean and the staff very friendly. There was a lot, I mean A LOT Of traffic noise though but the property has no control over that. Our cabin had a kitchenette so we were able to bring most of our food with us and every cabin had a grill outside. My kids played for hours at the upside park and the sound of the river was calming. I don't think the price is bad given the fact that it is summer time in a resort type mountain town. I recommend to place, and they are very kid friendly but try to get a cain toward the rear and away from the highway if you can. Would stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed here during our last trip to Estes Park July of 2012. I have no complaints...hoping to stay here again this summer. Loved the rustling river next to our cabin and convenience to town was great. Staff was very helpful and polite.

What a beautiful place our cabin was right on the river this place is on the other side of town so it's a little quieter but not a far drive to the happenings. Rooms are somewhat small but cabins are quaint and clean each one has a deck and chairs to sit out by the river we stayed during memorial weekend. Hosts are friendly and accommodating the river was flowing and hummingbirds were chirping it backs up to a forest/ mountain so along with the river there's trees we went with family but will definitely be back alone for a getaway prices are reasonable especially for the locale

Room Tip: Cabin 9 is a wheelchair accessible cabin with the deck right on the river
