“Beautiful mountain condos”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

Black canyon has gorgeous views of the snow topped rockies. It is also an amazing spot for a wedding as it overlooks the surrounding mountains. It is perfectly located 2 min from downtown and from hiking trails. It is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Will be returning in the future.

Room Tip: Stayed in F4.

My husband and I got married here on May 9, 2013 in the pavilion. We stayed in condo F07--it was breath-taking! Absolutely beautiful, clean, had all of the amenities we needed, and had GORGEOUS views and modern decor! This is the nicest place I have ever stayed by far! Definitely worth the extra dollars to stay here! ...The staff is extremely friendly, as well: they went out of their way several times on our wedding day, especially when the weather got bad. I will always feel grateful for them making our special day so special, and for making us feel as important as any other wedding group (even though it was just me, my husband, my brother, and his fiance there for the wedding!)...Can't wait to go back to the Black Canyon Inn! We had the most amazing time! Getting married in the pavilion was beautiful and perfect for anyone wanting an outdoor wedding. I definitely recommend letting the Black Canyon Inn handle the details of your wedding day!

Room Tip: F07 is perfect for couples or for small families. It has amazing views, modern decor, king-sized be...

Can't say enough about this location. The pavilion is lovely providing a spectacular mountain background for the ceremony. Reception at the Twin Owl Steakhouse was wonderful. Fabulous food (including buffalo prime rib) and the service was attentive and friendly. The bride and groom opted to spend their wedding night in the quaint Columbine log cabin, which is steps away from the event locations. All the guests raved about their accommodations and the daily views of elk, muledeer, rabbits, ground squirrels and a myriad of birds.

But a location alone does not make for a wonderful wedding. The real secret behind this beautiful wedding was Black Canyon Inn Wedding Planner, Rosemary Sloan. She anticipated every need in a friendly and unobtrusive way. She eased all nerves and even remembered everyone's names (far beyond the wedding party). She really puts the icing on the wedding cake here!

We attended a wedding at Black Canyon and could not have been more impressed. Each cabin was beautifully decorated and very cozy with fireplaces and big comfy furniture. The wedding was in the pavilion which was so lovely. Each day we would gather to watch the elk, rabbits, deer, ground squirrels, and wonderful array of birds. Rates are very reasonable too.

Stayed here for four nights, and honestly could not find a single thing to complain about. The staff was very accommodating, rooms were clean, and decorated nicely. We had a one bedroom unit overlooking the pond, wildlife was abundant, great mountain views, and best of all, very relaxing. We have been to Estes Park at least half a dozen times, and this by far was the most enjoyable! Already planning our next visit, hopefully in the fall. Awesome experience!!

We were married at Black Canyonn Inn in March and almost all of our guests stayed there. The accommodations were great for our large groups of friends and family and they were able to share affordable lodging. The property is beautiful and the backdrop of the Pavillion for ceremonies is breathtaking. We got a great response from all of our guests that they loved the wedding and the lodging! Great place for a wedding in Estes!

My husband and I planned our wedding at Black Canyon Inn based on online reviews. When we arrived we were pleased to find it even more amazing than we expected. We stayed the few days leading up to the wedding and our wedding night.

Our room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The view was just gorgeous, as were the grounds. I only wish we had had more time to spend in the room, but we had 30 family and friends to entertain the days leading up to the wedding, so we spent much of our time off the property.

The only problem we had with the room was the night before the wedding. We wanted to relax in a hot bath but when we turned on the water, the hot water wouldn't turn off! It was just pouring out. Normally I would have shut off the water and not worried about it till morning (it was after 11 pm), but the next morning was our wedding day, and I absolutely could not be without (hot) water. We called and emergency number and someone came right away to address the problem. We did not end up getting our bath, but we were very pleased with how responsive they were.

The wedding day was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better setting or better service from the staff. Absolutely everything was perfect. We originally planned to have the wedding at the pond, however when we arrived we immediately changed to the pavilion. The pond is gorgeous, and perhaps had we had a smaller group we would have stayed at that location, but after seeing it we felt it might be difficult on some of our guests to get to the pond and we knew it would be crowded. They allowed us to move the ceremony to the pavilion without any problems. One thing to consider if you are planning your wedding there - you can't see it in any of the pictures, but the road is just on the other side of the trees at the pond, so when cars drive by you will see/hear them. This was another reason we moved to the pavilion.

After the ceremony we took pictures at the pavilion and all across the grounds (we had gone into RMNP prior to the ceremony for more pictures). Aaron Cathcart was our photographer and he was phenomenal. I very highly recommend him. We got so many wonderful pictures we have about a dozen favorites. We also got a shot at the pavilion with everyone who attended. It is awesome to have had a place that worked so well for our group picture.

We then went to Twin Owls for our reception. Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, and good food. I wouldn't say the food was great (I was expecting more), but considering we had a large group they did an excellent job. The one thing that was amazing - the scallops. Get them. You won't regret it!

Overall we couldn't be happier with our stay at Black Canyon and our wedding day. We will definitely return.
