“classic meat fare in mountain lodge; suggest reservations; upscale atmosphere but casual dress still appropriate”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

This is a dinner only place which offers classic beef and game focused fare in a historic log cabin mountain lodge with exposed wood beams and scenic mountain views. We arrived quite early and didn't need reservations on a Monday evening but the place was full when we left and so I strongly suggest reservations. Even though this is an upscale place, it is also informal and one can dress quite casually to come here. The menu is mainly beef and game with a few other options. I had a delicious filet mignon which was very good but not quite in the excellent range. Same situation with the sides--very good but nothing superlative. Prices were pretty reasonable in that most entrees were under $30. The decor and ambiance in this place is very nice making it an appropriate special occasion type of place. Service was appropriate for a place of this caliber and cost. The bottom line is that we liked this place quite a bit but we didn't "love" it. By contrast, we really loved the Sweet Pacifico restaurant.

“Good food”

We attended a wedding held at the Twin Owls Steak house, and found the food and service to be above average.
Because it is such a popular wedding destination, it is important to make reservations before heading over.

“Beautiful restaurant”

We were a party of 16, and they cheerfully accommodated us. The service was great, and the food was delicious. They even took the trouble to give us separate checks. Highly recommend.

“Get a Reservation -- You Will Need It!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

Twin Owls is a restaurant that is easy to like -- great mountain lodge ambiance, friendly service, very good food, fair prices and casual attire welcome. We have had some exceptional food here, and rarely anything less than very good. On a recent visit, I tried the stuffed pork chop. I ate every bite, but found the berry glaze rather overpowering for the dish -- or maybe just too heavily smothering the chop. The filet and shrimp ka-bobs were very well done, prepared to order, in generous portions. Vegetarian pasta was tasty, but almost too much, in a large bowl with two types of pasta. The salads were not as fresh as usual, and the balsamic vinaigrette was just vinegar, while the raspberry vinaigrette was as thick as a heavy sauce. Not perfect, but all very good, with a lovely view of Twin Owls and magpies and bunnies playing on the lawn.
