We stayed for 2 nights in august and really enjoyed the hotel. Great room on the top floor with view of elk wandering up the road. Really good advice from the friendly owners both for walks in the park and for places to eat in town. Just 10 min walk into the town..far enough away to be out of the bustle but an easy walk.
A great spot.

We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your walks/hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park and into the Downtown Estes Park area. And what a treat to see the Elk wandering the streets right by the Inn, we try to get them to come by for a nightly showing but they can be a bit stubborn sometimes. Either way, we are glad they came during your stay! Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at the Inn.

Chris and Lutgarde, Belgium - Europe.
We stayed at The Maxwell Inn for 5 nights.
A quiet location on walking distance to downtown Estes. Close to entrace to RMNP.
The room was very clean and well maintained, the beds were very comfortable.
A very nice and excellent place.
The owners, a young nice family, are great and very helpfull.
The next time we visit the RMNP and Estes, we will definitely stay at the Maxwell Inn again !

We stayed at the Maxwell inn for 2 nights in august and could not have imagined a better hotel! Great location: close to downtown but in a quieter area down the road, peaceful. We asked for restaurant recommendations at the front desk and were given great ideas, and she marked their locations on the map for us, which was very helpful! (We suggest poppys pizza in the downtown area! great food and outdoor seating by the river, fyi!!) Saw 2 elk in the yard when we first checked in! We were in room 7, it was nicely decorated, a rustic feel, updated, and very clean, with air conditioning Hummingbird feeders and lavender growing in the front yard, very quaint, with benches to sit and watch for elk! Also, a firepit and hot tub at the hotel, (we didn't use because we were too tired every night) but nice to know they were there!! Continental breakfast included with coffee, yogurt, cereal, granola bars, toast, fresh fruit. Dvds available in the lobby, and our room had a dvd player, which we didn't utilize but was a nice touch, especially if you have kids! all good! Highly recommended. Would stay here again. Very well run.

From my first contact, I knew I made a thr right choice for our visit to Estes Park. The rooms and grounds are immaculate and very comfortable, the owners, Pete and Dana, are extremely attentive and personable, and the location is absolutely perfect. It is only a couple of miles to drive into RMNP for hiking and scenic drives. A paved pathway along a creek leads into the town for shopping and dining. We followed Dana's recommendations for hiking trails in the RMNP and for dining in town...great advice! Evenings on the patio are quite relaxing. The stone fire ring is a wonderful gathering spot for chatting with other guests to exchange hiking stories and for star gazing. The hot tub is quite useful for a much needed therapy after hiking. The hummingbirds are most enjoyable and entertaining to watch from the bistro tables outside the first level rooms, or from the comfy chairs in the lobby. There are many comfy/cozy spots inside and outside the inn for reading, reviewing the day's photos, checking emails, or planning the next hike. Our overall visit at The Maxwell Inn has been EXCELLENT!

We stayed at the Maxwell Inn for 5 nights. It was a great"home away from home". We walked to town, got great hike and restaurant recommendations, watched a movie on the porch on Friday night. The other nights, we took a book out to the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The Maxwells are a great young family and they have created a lovely little inn. The rooms are small but well appointed. Everything is clean and new looking.

Libby - It was great meeting you and your husband. We are so glad that you enjoyed some our hiking and restaurant recommendations. The courtyard is a wonderful place to read a book or sit and watch the hummingbirds on the feeders, we loved seeing you two out there on numerous occasions during your stay. And thank you for joining our family for the Friday night movie on the patio, we paid tribute to a great actor and comedian! Please think of us as your 'Home away from Home' the next time you get to visit Estes Park, CO.

We stayed at The Maxwell for three nights. It is conveniently located both to RMNP and the town of Estes. It is not right in the middle of the Estes hustle and bustle but the town is within easy walking distance.

The rooms are very small but very clean. Our room had a microwave and small refrigerator. There is nothing fancy about the room but it has everything you need.

The complimentary breakfast is very standard... bagels, muffins, cereals, bananas, assorted granola type bars, coffee, OJ, etc. There is a very small breakfast room where you can eat or, if the weather is nice, you can eat out in the lovely patio area.

In the patio area, there is a fire pit and a jacuzzi (very clean). We sat out in the jacuzzi one afternoon sipping wine and just enjoying the nice weather. It was lovely.

However, I think what makes this such a great place to stay are the owners. They are probably the most friendly, helpful and accomodating owners we have ever met when staying at a facility. They displayed their hospitality in a number of ways, every day. One day we returned from hiking at RMNP and were soaking wet from a rain storm. We asked if they had any fans we could borrow to help dry out our hiking boots. Not a problem... within a couple of minutes we had a fan and kept it for the length of our stay (lots of rain that week!)

The next time we visit RMNP, we will definitely stay here... we won't waste one minute checking out any other places.

Sophie-Sadie - Thank you for writing a review about your stay. It was great meeting you two and your friends and it was our pleasure to have you stay with us. We love hearing that you enjoyed your afternoon relaxing in the jacuzzi on the new patio, we are only sorry that we could not duplicate the weather for you to also enjoy your second afternoon on the patio. That only means that you will have to return, let us know when you are ready to come back!

Lovely Inn and very clean and comfortable. Dana's recommendations for places to eat were excellent. We stayed 2 nights in room 21. It's location is within walking distance to the shopping area which was great since that area is quite crowded. We enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Luv2TrvlWeDo. Our proximity to the river-walk into town is one of the great things about our location. We are situated close enough to shopping and dinning to walk (less than 10 minutes), but also just far enough away that you do not get a sense of the hustle and bustle of the Downtown area. Let us know when you two are ready to come back and stay in room #21 again!
