My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 2 week fly-drive holiday and Maxwell Inn served as an ideal base from which to head into the Rocky Mountain's.

The room was simple but had everything we needed after a long day hiking (and enjoy Sunday Night Football) at ~15 mins from the park entrance.

Breakfast in the morning was simple but sufficient (cereal, toast, fruit, coffee, fruit, muffins, etc.) and we would also recommend the Pizzeria opposite, which was very friendly and convenient.

When compared to other hotels in the same area, Maxwell Inn was well priced and I would recommend it to others in future.

GNO - Thanks for the kind words! We appreciate you taking the time to review the motel online! We've really set out to create a simple, yet comfortable motel. It's not the cheapest in town, and certainly not the most expensive. It's sometimes hard to find a "good value" in a purely vacation town, but that's where we've set our sights. We're glad you enjoyed the motel, the location, and the amenities offered. Thank you for appreciating the simple breakfast - we're constrained by not having commercial food prep facilities - so we consistently tweak what we offer while staying on the right side of the health inspector! Thank you again for staying, and we hope you can make it out this way again.

my wife and I stayed here September 17, 2018. We stayed on the second floor of their new addition. It was immaculate, spacious, fireplace, perfect view of nearby mountains. All appliances were new, including microwave and refrigerator. There was a heating/AC unit for adjusting temperature. Enough closet and drawer space. No elevator to the second floor but most rooms are at ground level. For us the second floor was perfect. Free continental breakfast with a relaxing patio for coffee in the morning. IT also had a firepit which seemed good for enjoying the evening. It was only a few minutes from the entrance to RMNP and downtown. We drove up to RMNP after dinner to listen to the elk bugling.
We highly recommend this Inn.

Nelson - Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to review our motel. The addition we completed gave us an opportunity to address some of the things we wish were different in our original motel rooms. We're overjoyed to hear it fit the bill for you! Thank you for outlining some of the "public area" amenities - the fire pit / hot tub patio, simple and efficient breakfast setup, and of course a great location near the park entrance. The furniture in nearly every room was hand built by a local craftsman, so most folks find it a welcome break from warehouse style mass made furniture in predictably boring motel rooms. Non-chain motels aren't for everyone, but we're happy you enjoyed your time. Thank you again.

My wife and I arrived in Estes Park on Wednesday evening and checked out on the following Sunday. Upon arrival we noticed that exterior of the property was very clean and had a very pleasing appearance. The room it self was notably will maintained and clean. The facility was exceptionally quite. It was a easy 10 minute walk to the downtown business area. Great location, a superb staff and all around exceptional facility. My wife and I will for sure stay at the Maxwell Inn on future trips to Estes Park.

Paradise - Thanks for staying with us this fall! We've completed a LOT of projects since we bought the motel six years ago, and we're glad to hear the work shows. We close in the winter to complete more renovation, repair, and general upkeep. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your time, and that the motel was quiet for you. Sometimes guests on the deck can make a bit of noise, but we've undertaken considerable effort to minimize room to room noise to try and make a guest's stay as comfortable as possible. Not perfect, but significantly better than the way the property was constructed fifty years ago! Thank you again and we look forward to your return!

Nice, spacious rooms and a perfect location - 15 mins drive from the entrance to the National Park, and a 10 minute walk into the city. The host was welcoming & nice.
The only downside was that we couldn't really turn on the heat in our room - the themostat screen was probably locked. Night temperatures would go down to the low 50s, and we would've liked being able to turn on the heat for a little while to feel more comfortable. Other than that, it was a perfect stay!
Added bonus is the amazing NY pizza place right across the street

Kaushal - Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for staying with us this fall! I apologize for any confusion the room heat. Next time give us a call on the after hours number or drop by the lobby before 9pm and we'll get it all sorted! Thanks for understanding and we're glad it wasn't too back of an inconvenience. We are happy that you chose to stay with us and to share your review online. Thank you, and we hope to see you sometime again!

LOVED my stay at the Maxwell Inn so much I extended my stay. It’s the perfect location - a short walk from downtown restaurants and shopping, and a 5-10 minute drive to Rocky Mountain NP. The rooms are cozy and very clean, with a ‘mountain lodge’ feel and comfy bedding. The continental breakfast was everything I needed to get up and out - hot coffee, yogurt, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, pastries etc. There is a great pizza place right across the street that is an awesome dinner choice, especially after a long day of hiking. Dana, at the front desk, was extremely helpful on RMNP recommendations as well as local stops. I will definitely return to the Inn when I am in the area. Highly recommended.

Kate - Thank you for staying with us this fall! It's awesome to hear that you enjoyed your time in Estes so much. It's a different town than some of the ski destinations, but if you love the outdoors it's great!! We've mentioned it before, but when we bought the motel we knew the location was good, but we didn't know just how good. It's convenient to be able to drive quickly into the National Park or walk downtown without too much hassle or traffic. We treat the breakfast as a "light" continental - there are some things (meats, etc) that we cannot have because we don't have a commercial kitchen or prep area. It's good to hear you enjoyed it! I liked helping with recommendations when possible, and that's easy to do when folks have a general idea of what they want. Sometimes it's tough if a guest asks for a restaurant recommendation and says they like "anything" - a little narrowing detail goes a long way! Thank you for the kind words, and we hope you can make it back out this way again.
