We recently stayed a night in the Wind River cottage. It was cozy, private, and peaceful. We left the back door open and enjoyed the cool CO temps and sound of the river. It was nice that they had a dimmer on the lights over the bed. They had a wine opener and glasses, and a note that you would be charged if you picked a bottle off the rack, but there was none on the rack unfortunately. Would have saved a trip into town. Owner was very helpful to recommend Twin Owls for dinner which was very nice (try the elk if you are a meat eater). The inn is a bit out of town, but that is exactly what we wanted. It was very nice that you could be by the river and not on the busy road. You really felt secluded with bunnies hopping around the front yard :-)

Room Tip: We thought you needed to get a cabin to be outside the main "house", but it isn't true...

Stayed in the Willow Cabin. Cute, small cabin and the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. Coffee on the patio, sleeping to the sound of the river, private hot tub, hot dogs on the grill. Much needed city escape. Definitely would go back.

Dripping Springs is actually in the little town of Drake, slightly east of Estes Park, with convenient access to Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. The location is tranquil and serene, with the nightime sounds of the flowing river and crickets to lull you to sleep. There are cabins and a lodge, all with relatively private hot tubs. Our cabin (Phoenix) had a gas grill, lovely covered front balcony with a dining/cocktail table and a view down to the river, two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room and eat-in kitchen. We had access to a couple of different firepits. Bring flashlights because walking around outside in the dark among the boulders can be tricky.
All of our contacts with the innkeepers were delightful. They are charming and exceedingly hospitable.
The kitchen was well-equipped with dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cookware and dishes.

Room Tip: The Phoenix and Thunderbird cabins are actually two units in a side-by-side duplex. We stayed in Pho...

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary early this year at dripping springs. We stayed in the cozy romantic room called canopy cottage with its own private deck and hot tub! So peaceful on this property cannot say this enough, also has a screened door to the deck, which we left open all nite so we could hear the big Thompson river and smell the fresh mountain air. The property is very secluded with chairs along the river, decks, fire pits and hammocks to lounge in. And the breakfast in the morning was so good, from scratch and we felt so at home! Can not say enough about this place, we were so well rested when we returned home. We want to bring our kids back out this summer hopefully and rent a cabin. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! Amazing location, incredibly peaceful, gorgeous surroundings and accommodations, and wonderful people! Jayne, Oliver, and John are wonderful people to stay with, and we stay with them as often as we can. This is hands-down our favorite place to bunk in the Estes Park area.

We've stayed at Dripping Springs as a couple, and as a family (and I do mean, the WHOLE family...seven of us, including in-laws!), and it is perfect either way!

I have stayed at Dripping Springs Resort two times and they always aim to please. The cabins are absolutely adorable and very private. Each cabin comes with a private hot tub and its own firepit on the river. The grounds are absolutely amazing and Janie, Oliver and John are fantastic hosts. The greatest thing about Dripping Springs is that it can be as social or as private a stay as you would like. Whenever I am planning a weekend getaway to Estes Park for my husband and I, this is the only place that comes to mind and if they are full, I will wait until I can stay here.

Room Tip: All of the cabins are fantastic! Choose based on how many people are in your party. You will not b...

We truly enjoyed our stay at Dripping Springs and can't wait to return. Janie, Oliver and John were great hosts. They made us feel like family. The breakfasts were both yummy and informative. We learned a lot about the area and attractions while dining with our hosts and other guests. The room was comfy with it's sleep number bed. We also enjoyed the private hot tub. The property is peaceful and relaxing. It was difficult to leave.
