Valhalla Resort is just OK. The price is reasonable, but the amenities are greatly overstated. We stayed in cabin 20. It is one of the largest ones. It is quirky, but in a fun sort of way. Kitchen, dining and deck were great. One bedroom was large and comfortable. Another bedroom with shared bath was Ok, but the other bedroom with shared bath was tiny. They also stated 3 full baths. This is a joke because the upstairs bath was impossible to stand in. The shower head, (no kidding) was 18 INCHES max from the tub floor. A midget could not shower there. We felt this was misleading and we had 11 people to try and get through 2 baths.
The playground for young children was almost impossible to get to with the native grasses being so tall. They could have mowed a path. The volleyball court was mud - that is where water drains. The miniature golf was just a few holes. Pool was small and little ground squirrels kept getting in it and being rescued. I feel they needed some dedicated pathways to get to their outside activities.
Out of 11 people, 8 of us got stomach flu. Not all at once but about 12 hours apart. Not sure if the germ was in the cabin or not. But the cleanliness could not have been the best. A group left a few hours before we arrived. How clean can they get a place in limited time.
There needs to be butter knives in the kitchen, and something to place ice cubes in the freezer.
I would reconsider staying here. There are resorts just down the road, both ways, that are much neater and not much more money. We are sorry we didn't get one of those. Roads and car lights will bother you in some of the bedrooms of this cabin.
