As has been mentioned, this is not a luxurious lodge, fairly basic as far as furniture, bathrooms, and other accommodations. But it is very clean, everything works, and the management is one of the best I have ever encountered. Most of the time when you go to Estes Park you do not spend much time in the room, so we did not need anything luxurious. It is very nice to arrive at this type of lodge, where you know that you need to go to the grocery store and buy some food and amenities, and yet they make sure that it is already stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and coffee filters. We had a couple of small piddly things that needed to be attended to like a blind that fell off the bracket on the second day; it was fixed immediately. We had our own hot tub (at Castle Tower) and it was hot and ready to go on arrival. Our kids (teenagers) had a great time exploring the mountain behind the lodge and my wife and I walked up (climbed in some parts) and found gorgeous scenery, giant rocks and beautiful views. It was one of the highlights in addition to exploring Rocky Mountain Park. The wifi internet connection was the only unreliable issue. It was spotty but if you were patient you could eventually get online and take care of email issues or whatever. The management was happy to let me use the in office computer and printer the day before departure to print off my boarding passes. We feel lucky that we found Castle Mountain Lodge among all of the places to stay.
