Romantic RiverSong Bed and Breakfast Inn

It's been a week since we got back from our second visit to this wonderful B and B. Unfortunately we came to Colorado during the horrible rain storms and pretty much had to cancel all our hiking plans and hunker down here at RR. We already had reservations for the meadow bright room, but when our campsite was swamped out, they managed to accommodate us for another night. We were greeted warmly by Gary, who showed us to our beautiful cabin that was the nicest room we have ever stayed in. Gary's enthusiasm not only about his inn, but life was contagious. Gary was leaving us for a few days, but left us in the very capable hands of Kerry, the innkeeper. Little did I know we would be spending lots of time together during the rains. First our room was above and beyond what we expected. The web pictures do not capture this B and B at all. Our room had beautiful log furniture, huge bed, a two person tub, a rain shower glass shower, a double sided fireplace, mini fridge, a deck with table and chairs, assortment of books, and lots of small touches to warm up this beautiful cabin. Very warm, inviting and romantic!!! Although this room is more then I would normally spend, I was more then pleased with it.
The breakfasts were fanatic. Each morning there was a fruit course followed by a main course which also contained a meat of some sort. The coffee and juice were constantly filled and meeting new people at breakfast was fun and interesting.
The grounds are extensive. Many places to explore or simply take in the beauty that surrounds you. Elk deer and even a curious bear( although I didn't see, but made itself known during our stay) are constant visitors. Although we didn't hike it, there s also a great hiking trail on the property.
So this is where I truly give kudos to RR and Kerry the innkeeper. During the rainstorm(s), Kerry was a super star. For lack of any other word , we were stranded there. Flooding was going on in town, we couldn't hike, and quite frankly it was dangerous outside. Kerry hopped in the truck before it got bad out and ran to the store knowing things were going to get worse. Other guest too went to the store to get provisions as well. Other guests shared their food with us and we all had lunch together and chatted a bit. By dinner we were all huddled at the main house watching this monumental storm. Knowing no one could leave, Kerry made us a huge dinner where we all gathered like hours earlier at breakfast and shared a meal. The two other couples that were there with us were similar in age and interest so conversations flowed easily, along with getting to know our hostess Kerry. Although it was a mess outside, laughter and stories filled the room.
We may not have been lucky with the weather, we couldn't have been luckier with the company we shared.
I would absolutely stay here again and definitely in the same room since I now feel spoiled. Thank you Kerry for keeping us safe, dry, and fed during our stay.

This will certainly be one of our most memorable trips. The inn is wonderful, the breakfasts were very good, and the service is outstanding. We had a romantic dinner prepared by Carol for us the first night, which was excellent. Kerry, our innkeeper, was amazing! She made sure that we were comfortable during the massive flooding that hit the Rockies, Estes Park and the surrounding area that fateful week. We also had elk and bear encounters on the property that added to the excitement! This is really a unique place and we wish wish them well as Estes recovers from the floods.

Others have said it well, and anything else added would seem to be a duplicate - but I cannot stress enough that this is a lovely hideaway, very romantic with a sweet staff that makes you feel like you are at home (if you want to see them.) The views are beautiful (you can see the continental divide when outside) and town isn't that far away. Let's just say, it was wonderful.

Room Tip: Check out their website, they have pictures of all their "cabins"

As others have written, the RiverSong is a beautiful and soothing place! Tucked away down a dirt road in Estes Park, we smiled seeing the colorful main house and fun cottages. Our room was perfect, with a kitchenette , living room and captains bed built into the wall surrounded by book shelves and fun books! The highlight of our stay were the amazingly friendly innkeepers, Mary and Carrie, and the delicious breakfasts and afternoon cookies they lovingly prepared. The trail from the back of the property leading up the mountain has terrific views of the Rocky Mountains! And when we left for our hiking days we always had some leftover breakfast food and cookies for nourishment. Our only disappointment was not staying longer! Surely, we hope to return! Much relaxation, beauty and wonderful food will greet you at Romantic River Song!

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw were beautifully decorated, clean, and inviting!

The Romantic Riversong is a treasure in Estes Park yet it's like searching the streams for gold in the Colorado Mountains. The keepers of this secluded treasure only have 10 rooms so making reservations is suggested. We have enjoyed many romantic stays as this has become our semi annual getaway for the past 7 years. Gary, Mary, Blanca, and his staff have set the the bar for the gold standard in customer service including the daily breakfast meals each is a treasure. They were rated as one of 1000 places to see before you die. My wife and I can truly see why this is factual and we will continue to spend special time there in the Rocky Mountains.

Room Tip: All are a treat each with a theme.

We stayed in the forget me not room and we won't ever forget it. The view out of the window was spectacular! When we first arrived in the room the misses was a little concerned about the lack of a TV or phone but it turned out the window was more than enough. The first day a small herd of deer went by the window, the second day a herd of elk, then a couple of days later some long horn sheep and the next day a bear. Add to that the fact that the weather was fantastic (we went in May) with sun and warm temperatures for the first few days and then some snow were great. The sites in the area are never ending and walking and hiking were fantastic but make sure you understand that the elevation is around 7,500 feet so understand your limitations. The staff was wonderful, the food great, the accomodations super! I highly recommend their picknic special! Love this place and plan to go back again!

Room Tip: That window in the advertisement for the Forget Me Not room will indeed be unforgetable!

We had a very lovely stay at this wonderful inn. It lives up to all the accolades and more. Cozy, comfortable luxury bedding, quiet at night, delish food and wonderful treats throughout the day. The owners lent us a canvas cooler so we could take our lunch with us on our day at RMNP. I would definitely go the extra cost and have the wonderful dinner prepared just for you at the inn. Carol's dishes were excellent, we brought our own wine and only had a few steps to get back to our room. Perfect ending to help fulfill our Rocky Mountain High.
