I have visited this property once or twice a year since 2007. It has always been nice but they have really stepped it up. The attention to detail is great, check in and out was smooth and the rooms well appointed. It's a historic hotel that's fresh and vibrant in every way.

Great location and restaurant was top notch as well.

My bf and I were in Providence for Pride on a very busy Saturday evening. From the beginning I could tell this was going to be a very good hotel stay. The valet was very welcoming and the front desk allowed us to check in an hour early because our rooms were ready. There were 3 of us in the party with two rooms. Besides getting to the elevators the hotel interior was immaculately clean an well decorated. When we arrived at our room I was amazed. This room had a huge king bed and the coverings were very soft and comfy. I had read a few reviews from the past saying the room was loud. This was the case for us but there were late night celebrations right outside our window for PRIDE. We didn't mind and we even were able to get to bed early that night. This hotel is located right in the middle of everything. I was very happy with our stay. The only problem we had the next morning was the amount of time it took us to get our car from the valet. We handed the valet our ticket and he continued to park other cars and retrieve other cars of people that came after us. This was a bit annoying but we were not in a big rush that morning. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We travel a lot. The Hotel Providence is a breath of fresh air. My original room had a faulty sink and phone, so I was immediately moved to a suite without question! High quality linens, mattresses, lighted make-up mirror, hair dryer, plenty of pillows and towels, free WiFi and nice view! I'm here for son's college orientation and very impressed. What a beautiful city!

Room Tip: Make sure to ask how many beds in the room.

Junior suite with 2 queen beds was spacious, luxurious, and comfortable. Excellent location for walking all over. Morning coffee and afternoon tea and cookies were a treat, The elegant pet lobby is remarkable. The helpful staff gave us good directions for exploring and getting around.

We arrived at this property around 6:00 after a 5 hour drive and we were told our room wasn't ready so we went for a walk.
When we returned we discovered the room we had reserved had a maintenance issue and there were no comparable rooms available.
The woman at the desk couldn't have handled it better.
She was extremely apologetic and upgraded us to what I'm guessing is there premier suite.
Things happen and this glitch could have ruined our stay but instead the way it was handled resulted in a very positive impression of this hotel.

The suite was immaculate. The furnishings are a little drab but in good condition. The hotel gym is terrible but there is a full gym in walking distance. The location is very good with many restaurants and adorable shops right around the corner.

We will stay here again because, in my opinion service and cleanliness are paramount and this hotel does a great job with both.

Our daughter was having a milestone birthday in Providence, but since the party would go on all night, my husband and I booked a room at Hotel Providence for a quiet night's sleep. When we checked in, before the party, we found a very loud wedding party on the patio. Rap and hip hop. Down the street was a large block party. Loud. The car valet announced that all roads around the hotel would be shut down soon by the police, as it was ground zero for the Gay Pride Parade and after party. We staggered in to reception, only to be sent to a room directly above the wedding dance floor outside. The best the front desk could think of was "Sorry, like, really sorry". Period. We had to find another hotel, and since roads were being shut down, it took us over an hour to get out of downtown. We missed the beginning of our daughter's surprise birthday party, and missed seeing our grandsons, as they went to their friends for a sleepover after an hour at the party. I was in tears. It is a disgrace on management that we were not advised of these extraordinary events at the time of booking. It is professionally negligent and deceptive and just plain nasty to do to clients. Not to mention stupid as our family will forever recommend against this hotel to our friends.

Room Tip: A good room would have to be in another hotel.

We are all so sorry that you had such a bad experience staying with us on the night of your daughter's birthday party, due to the noise. I sincerely apologize for causing you and your family so much inconvenience. We were not expecting the citywide event to be so disruptive to our guests and will certainly takes preventative steps in anticipation for next year's event.
Again, my apologies to you and your family.

The Hotel Providence is a nice hotel that's centrally located in downcity. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are nicely decorated and equipped with Keurig coffee machines. There is hot tea in the morning and fresh baked chocolate chunk cookies in the hotel lobby in the afternoon. There is a $28/day valet parking fee. I suggest doing the valet parking since parking is difficult to find in the city. The only downside is that you can hear your neighbors talking in their own rooms and when people use the shower or flush the toilet. Also, there is a church across the street that rings bells beginning at 8 am! Try to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel from the church.
