Omni in Providence is best place to stay for Waterfire. Hotel is attached to parking, Providence Place Mall and RI Convention/Visitor center. Short walk to the basin for opening ceremony for Waterfire. Package deal for Waterfire includes fruit/cheese plate, Waterfire DVD & brunch. Hassle-free way to enjoy Waterfire & other historical sites in downtown Pro

Stayed at the Omni in Providence RI on our way to Nantucket from Potomac MD. Brutal drive - 9 hours to Providence and stuck on 95 in Conn for 60 miles of very slow traffic (Greenwich to New Haven). So when we got to the Omni we were beat. Everything was first rate. The hotel restaurant was a particularly positive surprise. So often you do not know what to expect at a hotel restaurant. This was Italian and the food was first rate - and the setting was very nice. The perfect meal for two tired travelers that had 80 more miles to the Hyannis ferry the next day and a 2.5 hour ferry ride once there. So for those of you that have very long travel to the Cape or the islands and need to do it in two days - highly recommend the Omni Providence. Drive to the Hyannis Ferry was not bad - 80 miles. We left at 7:30 AM and missed most (not all) of the Saturday Cape traffic. KRB

Really enjoyed this hotel. Location is incredible for getting around Providence. Nearby restaurants are fabulous. Connected to mall; close to busses and trolley for distant sightseeing. Close to everything! Room comfortable and clean; bed amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for our first trip to Waterfire and were not disappointed in the least! Called to find out if our room was ready 2 hours ahead of time, and it was. We upgraded to a room with a corner view, and it was spectacular, especially at night! Some folks may not like a highway view, but we thought it was cool with all the different lights and such - especially to see the capital building all lit up. Bed was the most comfortable bed either of us has slept on - we didn't want to leave! My sleep was cloud-like and glorious. Bathrobes were a delight - as were the double sinks in the very spacious bathroom. I would book this hotel again in an instant for our next trip to Providence. *Waterfire was a must-see!

Room Tip: The upgrade to a corner view is totally worth it!

Hotel is connected by a bridge to the Providence Mall, The RI Civic Center, a walk to Federal Hill for Ethnic dinning and a walk to "Water Fire" a amazing display! In the winter you would not have to leave. We enjoyed a daily workout. The conference room was spacious and the sound equipment excellent. The am breakfast was adequate-hot foods were cold.

Booked ADA room, but bed height not compliant. Needed to be lifted into bed. Everything else at hotel was fine. Most hotels deal with the bed issue by purchasing 1/2 box springs. Great location to stay and watch the water fire.

We stayed at the Omni because it was one of the few hotel that was still available during a Waterfire weekend. The room was large and our beds were very comfortable but you could see that it was starting to show a little bit of wear and tear. The location is perfect so it is still a reliable choice.
