Being the first B&B of our 17 day trip, all others will be compared to this warm, welcoming experience. Sue met us at the door, and even though earlier than expected, she welcomed us in and made us so very comfortable. Serving tea and cookies at 3 and a hosting a gathering of guests at 5:00, had us all feeling at home. The whole house is immaculate and in pristine condition as upkeep and decoration are a high priority. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. Breakfast was served with warmth and care, Dennis doing the cooking and Sue serving the delicious banana fill popovers, sausage and fruit. Sue's warm personality kept the conversation going and was a great start to the day. Thank you Sue and Dennis!!

We just left Campobello at closing and crossed back to the US. We were not sure what might be available due to scarcity of places to stay but another B&B that was booked offered to call and directed us to Sue and Dennis's Peacock Inn . They welcomed us at this late evening and got us settled along with another late guest and the next morning we had a lovely breakfast with a special treat, popovers filled with bananas and just a light syrup along with delicious muffins, sausage and fruit. Bed and Breakfasts are not our usual choice because we always felt we had to find one ahead of time but they assured us that most innkeepers accept late arrivals especially when season draws to a close. We had a great evening to complete our visit to this lovely vacation site.

My husband and I pulled into Lubec in the pouring rain and were looking to stay for the night on our way to Canada. Sue greeted us at the door at the Peacock and clouds lifted. Our stay at the Peacock House thanks to Sue and Dennis was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the suggestions of restaurants and sites A-!. This was the most enjoyable Bed and Breakfast experience I have had.

We had a 3 night stay with Sandy and Dennis. The most welcoming couple. After chatting with Sue I felt I had known her for years. The sun room and library are great places to "roost". We stayed in the Sea glass Suite which was immaculate, on the first floor and had its own entrance and parking. The only downsize is the shower stall is tiny. Probably younger, skinnier people would have no problem. Breakfasts were ample and ever so tasty. Dennis is a great cook. Sue had lots of suggestions and information. A very, very pleasant stay where I felt like "company". Thanks Sue and Dennis for running a very superior bed and breakfast.

My wife, Jennifer and I made our first trip up to Lubec and chose the Peacock House largely based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. And we were not disappointed. Sue and Dennis are awesome hosts. Sue greeted us as we pulled up and gave us the tour and went through all the important info. We talked and felt right at home right away.

Our room, The Summer Room, was spotless and smelled so clean and fresh. Very comfortable and a great view. When you go into a hotel/B&B room for the first time, you want the feeling that you'll be the first people to ever stay there and that's how we felt entering the summer room.

The house overall is really nice and beautifully kept. All the details are accounted for. Free Wifi through out the house. Sue gave us suggestions and was very conversational, we found out we are both from PA originally.

Lubec is such a nice quiet small town right on the water. We walked two blocks to downtown and ate at the Cohill Inn, also owned by a Philly area native.

When we returned, we had fresh cookies to greet us.

Breakfast was terrific for both days. Fresh muffins and Dutch Baby Pancakes on Day 1 and Fresh Muffins and Egg/Cheese Souffle on day 2. Kudos to Dennis!

On our second night after getting back from dinner, we relaxed and talked with Sue and Dennis for a while. They talked about their journey to Lubec and asked about us. We really felt like we were staying with family, we didn't want to leave.

We will be there again, that's for sure.

Some people should not be in the hotel business. Some seem to be born with a talent for hospitality. Sue, the owner of Peacock House, definitely belongs to the second category. She has an amazing capacity to make you feel welcome without being intrusive. Our stay was absolutely flawless thanks to her, and also to the perfect comfort of the huge room we rented. We had no idea what Lubec would be like but it became one of our favorite little towns. Come to Lubec, stay at the Peacock House. Only thing, don't do the mistake we committed: stay for more than one night. Next time, as soon as possible, we are planning to stay more. Much more.
