My guy and I stayed at the Inn while on a motorcyle trip. Our first night didn't start out great as a gentleman in the next room was snoring so loudly we could not sleep. Thankfully the hotel owner put us in another room and went above and beyond to make sure the rest of our stay was remarkable. What could have been a horrible experience turned into a memorable one by the efforts of the owner and staff. The restaurant on site is excellent, rooms are clean and well kept, and views of the water are amazing. We cannot wait to return and I would highly recommend this venue to anybody looking for a great spot on the water. When you are there make sure to shake Victor's hand.

This time I stayed a week instead of two weeks, and once again I enjoyed my visit. I love being right on the bay and being able to watch the fog creep in at night and burn off again in the morning. As usual my room was clean and pleasant.

There were fewer people staying there from Summerkeys this summer (I think there were fewer people attending Summerkeys this year), and more people staying just a night or two compared to earlier years.

The power went out one night at about 9:30 pm-there was a thunderstorm and the entire town lost power for several hours. The owner came down to check on things and rounded up a few flashlights for those that wanted them. The hall lights were on a backup system but not the rooms.

The only real disappointment was the muffins in the morning. In past years, they've come right out of the oven. This summer they're making them the night before and then bringing them out at 7 am with coffee.

There are yoga classes each morning for those that are interested and a kitchen for those who want to cook their own meals-something that comes in handy if you're staying for more than a day or two.

The staff is friendly and very welcoming-they remember you from year to year and welcome you back like long-lost friends.

After much anticipation of spending a couple of quiet nights in Lubec we were very disappointed. The first night there was a wedding party that spilled over to the common area and resulted in a very loud and disruptive party with heavy drinking. I along with another occupant had to address the group to try and establish some reasonable boundary. On the second night several friendly but very rowdy bikers occupied many of the rooms and proceeded to play loud music, openly smoke pot, drink and use profanity out on the common deck and wharf. While dining there was a recognizable aroma of weed drifting through the outside dining area. Now I don't hold anything against people having a good time and celebrating but on these two consecutive evenings there was no management present to address the rowdiness and help support the other patrons. People are very nice in Lubec but stay away from this Inn if you are looking for rest and relaxation!

Room Tip: Check to see if there are any large parties before you make a reservation.

We enjoyed a very short but pleasant one night stay at the Inn on the Wharf. We had flown into Portland that noon and had driven the 5 hours to the Inn, stopping only for meals along the way, so we were quite ready to crash. Our plans were to get a good night's sleep, eat a hearty breakfast at the Inn, look around Lubec, and then drive leisurely to our next stop in Moncton, New Brunswick. Unfortunately, the hurricane Arthur was on our heels, determined to expedite our journey. Therefore, we were not able to avail ourselves of any of the amenities at the Inn other than the comfortable beds and the morning muffins (both of which were good). Our room was just to the right (facing the water) of the common area. Disadvantages were: common deck was outside our windows - had to keep blinds closed; noise coming from the common area lasted until about 9:30 and there was no TV to moderate it. Good news for us was we were so tired it didn't matter! Advantages were: close to the morning muffins (I hear they go fast) and coffee; if we had stayed a little later, we would have had a great view of any activity taking place on the wharf. About the smell others reviewers have mentioned: we smelled NOTHING but a bleachy odor in our room. It was pretty strong to begin with but was a distant memory by morning. The room was extremely clean, so much so that I would have thought we were the first occupants had I not read differently on this site. In summary, we would definitely stay here again but would probably ask for a different room.

Room Tip: A room with a private balcony might be nice but not one next to the common area.

An immersion in the best of the real Maine. We began every morning with fresh coffee from the kitchen a few doors down, looking out the windows in our room onto the bay. We could see the lobster that would be on that day's menu being brought in. Then a hearty breakfast in the Inn's restaurant.
For warmer weather there are decks outside with tables and umbrellas. The staff, from Victor the owner on down, are adept at coddling their visitors and seem to love doing it.
We hated to leave to go onto our planned activities for the day, and sometimes we didn't!
