This was my first trip to Lubec, my first time attending the SummerKeys music program, and my first time going off an adventure like this by myself. I am so glad that I decided to take a chance on the Eastland Motel. Heather and Glenn were super hosts, and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The room was cozy and very clean with everything I needed for my week long stay. I even practiced on the back lawn with no one complaining! The Eastland is close enough to the center of town so that going back and forth several times each day for lessons, ensemble sessions and practice times was no problem at all. The area is simply beautiful - the ocean, West Quoddy Light, Campobello in Canada just across the bridge - I'm looking forward to returning, and hopefully there'll be a vacancy at the Eastland!

Room Tip: Heather and Glenn are new owners and they are remodeling every room in the motel.

If you're looking for a comfortable, friendly, non pretentious place to stay in Down East, Maine, don't miss the Eastland Motel in Lubec. It's well worth going the 8 miles off Route One to meet Heather and Glenn, hear about how they're updating the motel, enjoy the morning muffins, and relax in one of the well equipped rooms. You'll get a good feel for real Down East hospitality.

Very clean, comfortable and good equipped rooms; all with a frig and a micro.
A nice breakfast with homemade (!!) muffins is supplied and can be eaten in your room if you want.
The location is great, surroundings are beautifull (explore Canada/Campobello!) and desolated (very nice after the busy and touristic Bar Harbor etc.).
Last but definitely not least: Glen and Heather are very friendly and helpfull and make you feel at home.
An exellent place to stay which I would definitely recommend!!

In Maine but true "Southern Hospitality" !! Glenn and Heather are 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet with ethics and standards above extraordinary by any comparisons.
We don't think you could find better hosts anywhere.

Thanks Don and Sandy! We appreciated your kindness as well. Thanks for the positive comments. We will continue to work hard to improve the property for our guests. Glen and my son are on the roof tearing off old shingles as I type... AND, we look forward to your return.

Thanks to Heather and Glen for a wonderful experience on our recent trip to Lubec. Our room was clean, spacious and totally remodeled. Our favorite part of the room was the bed and linens. The mattress was so comfortable and the sheets and blankets were soft and cozy. We slept very well indeed! As mentioned in the other reviews the muffins and coffee the next morning are just the icing on the cake. Lubec is a charming little seaside town that is a total "Downeast" experience. We hope to stay at the Eastland again next year when we make our annual trip to Maine.

Our crew works hard to ensure the rooms are perfectly clean. Thanks for noticing! We try to keep things updated, but still have a ways to go before all rooms are complete. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and as always, look forward to your return!

Four fantastic days in a gem of a motel located in the special town of Lubec - a best kept secret. We were so delighted with the hospitality of the hosts, Glen and Heather. As others have stated before.... they make you feel like family. What an outstanding job this lovely couple have done restoring this 50's motel... and I know they are not done yet. Oh... and Heather's delicious muffins can't be overlooked! You can smell them as you make your way to the office. The rooms are immaculate and so very comfortable providing in-room coffee/tea, microwave, and frig. Overall... the outstanding ratings should be multiplied by 2! They have set the bar for future lodging encounters. If you are in Lubec... make sure you stay at the Eastland Motel. You will not regret it. By the way.. this couple can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. And... Glen is a master map maker to help you find your way,. He deserves credit from the Maine tourism board. His suggestions were spot on, especially for roads to tour on your motorcycle!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are comfortable... Rooms 1 thru 9 provide direct access to outside... if that makes...

Bunny! Glen believes too that he should get a commission from the Maine Tourism Association! AND his map skills are outstanding to say the least! Thanks too for sending the framed one. I will never live that down. You should have kept it.... He expects them to generate quite a sum of money some day! He has put it in the lobby for others to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed your company as well and look forward to your return. : )

We were three ladies on our way to Prince Edwards Island and found the Eastland Motel a real find. Not only was the price right, but the room was warmly appointed with quilts and fleece blankets on the beds. And what a surprise to find the cot was wonderfully comfortable too!
The continental breakfast included homemade muffins and good coffee. Our host was knowledgeable about area restaurants and steered us to an excellent one, "Frank's". Another plus was finding good nature guide books in the office area, including binoculars and a birding book. That has been a first for me. One final note: there is no cell service in the area. The motel provided free phone service anywhere in the US or Canada. What more can I say, except call and make a reservation. Remember, however, this is northern Maine simplicity in an old fashioned motel which is being lovingly updated.

We certainly appreciated your company and hope your visit to PEI was as delightful. Thanks for your patience regarding our renovations... we are currently replacing the roof. Luckily you missed that project! Once that is finished, we will go back to room updates and renovations. We hope you have the opportunity to return and see it in its finished state!
