“Lovely desert lanscape,HOT HOT HOT”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

A little hard for "older" people to walk and get around-BUT then again OLD people shouldn't be out in that heat guess.

“A Must Visit”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

I grew up in the area but now live in Europe and Africa. I return home frequently and often with people that haven't been to the area. This is an excellent place for locals and visitors to be introduced to the wildlife and nature of the southwest in a safe environment. The Desert Museum has evolved over the years to an excellent experience for people of all ages. Highly recommended!!

“One of those places I will have to visit again.”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

The Desert Museum was a great experience for my wife and I. The drive there is good. The landscape and vegetation is very different from where we live in the Middle East.
The grounds of the Museum are very well laid out with lots of winding paths which take you to lookouts, past a huge variety of large and small types of plants and the associated birdlife and, of course, the examples of native animal life.

We would have liked to have returned for the night time walk to see scorns and spiders using ultra violet lamps. maybe next time.

There were excellent toilet facilities, a restaurant and a gift shop with a large range of interesting goods for sale.

“Desert in August”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

visited here on a hot day in August - still amazing despite the heat! Appreciated all the places we could duck into to escape the heat along the path - underground caves, pavilions with fans, shaded walkways, and more. This museum is truly amazing - beautiful drive, beautiful views, fun exhibits for kids and adults, and reasonably priced items in the gift store. Two thumbs up!

“Lots of unique species to see”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Lots to see that you wouldn't see at any other place zoo or otherwise. Really enjoyed the unique species that just live in the desert. Really liked the hummingbird exhibit, so many beautiful colours all just flying around freely.
