“Its a beautiful mission and a great way to spend an hour.”

Any visitor to Tucson should visit San Xavier atleast once- it's pretty central to the Tucsonian psyche. It's a great place to visit for about an hour- after that you will find its time to move on. A guided tour can provide much depth to your visiting experience. If hungry, it is common for the Native tribes folk to have fry bread stands setup near the parking lot- worth a try if your a visitor(it's usually good). Great place to visit, but you can get bored after awhile- especially during scorching summer days.

“Beautiful! Free! Sunrise/Sunset Changes Color”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We happened upon this Mission by accident while passing through Tucson. Not far off the interstate and well worth a visit. We went around sunset as the Church was closing. So, we spent the night in Tucson and returned the following morning. Beautiful on the inside, nice gardens to visit as well.

“Always love seeing the mission!”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Beautiful and clean. So old world. Takes you back in time. Lovely ceiling and wall paintings. Reasonable gift shop with local artists featured. Delicious fried bread meals cooked fresh outside by local native American families. Plenty of quality food for just a few dollars. Nice day!

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

This was one of my favorite stops. It is an active church so plan your visit around the worship service schedule. Beautiful carvings, artwork, and statuary that date back tot he the 1700's. Guided tours are available. Donations accepted as well as offerings in the sanctuary.

The church is truly beautiful and so inspirational. So much to see. We've been there many times and always see something we missed on previous visits.
