“Go there. They love to share it and show it off.”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We (nine Virginians) were on a 21 day van trip through the SW. Took the San Xavier del Bac tour led by docent Tom Herrick. Excellent. If in Tucson it would be a shame to miss a visit to this beautiful, historic site. And it's free, although they will not turn down contributions to the restoration fund if the Spirit moves you. Or so I'm told.

“A must-see if you're in Tucson”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

This is a must-see for visitors to the southwest, as it really embodies the spirit of this region. There is no fee to explore the church, though you may be inspired to light a candle, available for $3 in the gift shop. Located five minutes off the I-19 freeway, it's well worth taking 30 minutes out of your day to visit.

“Take the tour”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Informative!
They say 30min, I would estimate 40 to 50. We had only 30min and missed the chapel part of the tour, not sure what else.
nice gem in Tucson---Try the Indian Fry bread I think friday and weekends they have several vendors so you can chose the combination you want. We highly recommend the honey and cinnamon!!!! but the taco looked good too!!---2 can share, large.

“Impressive site with history”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

It is about 20 minutes from UA. Spectacular view set against the mountains. It is a site to see even if you are not Catholic.

“A Great Place to Visit”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

San Xavier is on the Tohono O'Odham Indian reservation. I believe it's the oldest continually used Catholic Church in the United States. There is a school on the grounds, a museum and a gift shop among other things. The interior restoration, completed by Italians and the Indians, is amazing. A must see! Be sure to check their website for more info.
