We stopped here on a long road trip from Houston to LA and what a reward it was! The bell staff drove us to our location and we were so pleasantly surprised at the layout of the room. The sitting area had a high back leather sofa and chair with a large screen TV mounted over the desk opposite the sitting area. The sleeping area was just beyond that with a huge dressing area off of that leading to the bath. I cannot say enough about the wonderful sleeping experience! The bed was sooooo comfortable with many down pillows and a down comforter, I did not want to leave it! But that is not the only thing that makes this hotel so wonderful. The grounds are just gorgeous with wonderful meandering paths that allow you to view the sights. While there were many amenities that we did not take advantage of in this short stop, we did take advantage of the wonderful whirlpool and the pool (both short walks from our room). If we were staying longer there would have been many tennis games, spa experiences, horseshoe games, and horseback riding to take advantage of. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to feel pampered.
Lovely facility, attentive and friendly staff, beautifully landscaped in concert with the desert. The room was an interesting layout, and comfortable. We were on the resort side so it was quiet. Food was good for breakfast, and we had a good early dinner in the bar. The Top of the Butte restaurant was disappointing in a limited menu, and only average. Overall, we will stay there again and highly recommend it.
Dear Leslie W,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I was happy to hear that you had a wonderful time staying with us. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to the next time you are in town.
Best wishes and safe travels!
Billed and priced as a resort property offering scenic landscaping, appealing views, and delicious food and other fine amenities, we still found it lacking in many ways. The room we had was quite spacious, but getting a little long in the tooth with out of date designs and fixtures. It was also poorly laid out as if done by an inexperienced designer. The shower stall was one of the worst designs we've ever encountered. A wildly spraying shower head is on the right, the shower door is on the left and opens inward. You are then left with two choices when entering the shower. Open the door, walk in, turn on the shower and get sprayed with ice cold water until it eventually warms up, then continues to get hotter and hotter and hotter ... or, take any towels you were thinking about using off the towel holder on that same door and lay them on the nearby toilet seat, then reach in through the open door and only have your arm and upper body sprayed as you adjust the water. You may have to do this several times to achieve a suitable water temperature, each time getting more and more sprayed water throughout the toilet area. A cheap fix for this would be for the property to replace the shower head with a Water-Pic type design utilizing a hose so that the shower head could be held pointing away from you until the water reached a suitable temperature.
The closet was also another work of art. The space is not deep enough to mount the room safe properly or provide sufficient clearance for the doors to open/close without knocking hangers off the hanger pole as you witness them clanking noisily to the floor. I would recommend not hanging any fine clothes, suits, or dresses as the door will scrape over them as you slide the doors back and forth. In our room, the doors were also very heavy and difficult to slide due to all the binding taking place. Accordion style doors that fold out would likely work far better.
Another disappointment is that the once beautifully landscaped grounds are not well maintained nor as pristine as they should be for this type of retreat. Weeds adorn, some flora and cactus lie dead or unattended.
Then there were the little things ... like two of the three mornings we were there, having to call the front desk asking for them to provide coffee ... or cups ... or both for the in-room coffee maker. Sheesh!
We have been Wyndham Rewards patrons at Wyndham Properties for several years and have noticed a steady, declining trend in both service and property upkeep at nearly every level of their offerings. As a result, we have begun to look at different chains for our frequent travel needs.
We stayed 4 nights in Posada room 100. Our original room faced the parking lot, so we asked to move to a room with a foothills view, & they did so graciously. This resort has everything so you need and more, so you never have to (or want to) leave!! There were weddings and business meetings while we were there, but yet it never felt too crowded and the staff stayed just as attentive. Loved the location being just outside of the city, yet grocery store and other stores only 2min away. Multiple hiking/biking trails minutes from the resort. Only minor complaints would be that there are two seating areas for nighttime around fire pits, and they only kept one lit which was not enough room for everyone to keep toasty. The other complaint is the bar service was slow and we thought the drinks were too weak (and we are not big drinkers). All in all a wonderful experience. We will be back!!
