“Great Oasis in the middle of it all”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

This is truly an awesome garden and, with the various plants and water features, was so peaceful in the middle of the hustle bustle of Tucson. When you visit, a stop at the Bistro is a "must do." We viewed the gardens for an hour or so, then thought we would catch lunch before the Docent tour, so ate at the Bistro just because it was close. What a surprise. The Bistro was as good as, if not better than, the gardens - what a treat. If we are ever in the area again, we will eat at the Bistro even if we don't go through the gardens. The staff are welcoming and helpful in both the gardens and the Bistro. This is a well-worth stop in Tucson (and there is shade).

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed 22 December 2013

This is our first visit. Not much blooming in Dec., but the park is still very charming. Had lunch at the bistro. A beautiful courtyard. I even picked some kumquat oranges. The sweetest kind I have ever had.

Laugh with the magician, sing carols with various groups. Delicious buffet and Prickly Pear Margaritas Highlight of the evening was the wonderful band .....Mexican with a hint of irish tunes. Get there about 5:30 for best parking and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season,

“peaceful bliss”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

What a tranquil spot. Lovely setting, interesting landscapes to walk through and enjoy, very well kept and tastefully maintained. If I lived locally I'd have a membership, visiting often with a book, finding a quiet corner to relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

“Magical Christmas Experience”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

We visited for the first time during their Holiday Nights and found it to be a magical experience with the whole park aglow in lights. There were three bands playing in different areas, so we sat and listened a while to two of them - especially liked the one with the Spanish guitar and violin. We wandered all around and since it was dark except for the Christmas lights, we didn't see a lot of the gardens except along the walkways. With the almost full moon, the lights, and the music, it was enchanting. We splurged on their special buffet at Garden Bistro. What a spread and really delicious. This was one of those special experiences we'll look back on year after year when we remember Christmases past.
