We visited Sunday, May 25. The gardens are great places to wander and plants are identified. It was warm this day so we didn't see everything outside. The gallery showcased local artists and the coolnesss made us linger. Insteresting art! They have a nursery where you can buy plants. We stopped for a Prickly Pear Margarita in the restaurant. We were there after the Sunday morning crowds and we lingered over our drinks. I bought some Prickly Pear Syrup to make these margaritas at home.

I love Tohono Chul park. It is easy to get to. The native plants and birds are easy to see on the many walking trails that are not difficult. Lunch at the Tea Room is a special treat especially if you sit outside. Also the special events such as the Christmas lighted nights and entertainment are lovely. The park is one of my favorite places to take out of town guests and to have special lunches with friends.

If you think the desert is just "cactus & rock", this will change your mind. A garden to savor, wander, experience (especially in spring, fall & winter), and return to. There is a "secret garden" vibe to Tohono Chul, and a sense of discovery.

I have been to Tohono Chul Park many times and it never disappoints. The gardens are lovely and they have some really interesting statues that add to the experience. There always seem to be plenty of docents around who will give you a private tour of the highlights of the garden. The regularly scheduled tours by the docents are definitely worth planning your trip around. The small Art Gallery and the gift shop are also not to be missed. The on site Cafe is a lovely place to stop after your morning tour for a bite to eat. All in all, just one of the most pleasant places in Tucson to visit. Make sure to get a Tucson visitor pass book for two for one price deals on this as well as most other tourist attractions in Tucson to save on entrance fees if you are going to be in the area.

This park has nice plantings, but admission is high for what there is to see. We went during the Christmas display, which was very expensive for a mediocre display. Perhaps other events are a better value.
