While the family slept in, I opted to get in a round of golf while in Tucson. Was able to get an early tee time at the Randolph course. Was able to rent clubs too.
They say this was a PGA stop for the Tucson Open? I be the pros ate this course up. I bought a dozen balls not knowing what to expect and of course playing with rental clubs. I gave the local guy I played all 12 balls when done as I did not lose any and did not want to take them back on the plain. Point is, you would have to really work to lose a ball on this course. The course is wide open. No big trouble except for a few water holes that are easily avoided. It is a beautiful course for a public course and very well taken care of.
It is well worth the time to go play. The club house service was very nice and helpful to a non-local. The rental clubs were $30 for a stiff shaft (Bazooka Tour Edge) and they took some getting used to but were actually good feeling by the back 9. The starter helped direct me to the tee box and introduced me to the group I was joining. The round cost $58 so that was not bad for a weekend.
Anyway, I had a great time. Would recommend this course to everyone that an play the game.
