Owner description: With a course rating/slope of 70.2/125, this 18-hole championship layout follows ravines and threads through rolling foothills, which demand more accurate drives to less forgiving landing areas.

The tennis courts are excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking abundant and close to the courts. We did not go there to golf so I can't tell you anything about the golf course but again the tennis facilities were great.

Played Conquistador Course yesterday. Not sure whether that was Sunset or Sunrise but it is the Western most course so probably Sunset? Anyway, it has gotten so much better. The fairways were in very nice condition considering the time of the year and heat. The tee boxes were good but the greens were excellent. They had been punched and sanded but now are running about 9-10 and getting better every day. An excellent value on GolfNow for $20 plus fees! Almost 5 Stars

Played Conquistador course. If you like plush conditions -- you won't like this course / complex. Fairways were dry / bare and tee boxes were chewed up. Some greens good; others not. If you don't like playing through houses and condos, you will not like this course as that is a pretty steady feature throughout. If you like good service, you won't find it here: they are understaffed, the pro shop attendant could not have been less helpful and they seem perpetually behind (we started 20 minutes late on the course other than the one we booked and 4.5 hours later overheard another group complaining of same). If you enjoy an interesting design independent of condition quality and service flaws, you might enjoy this course as layout is both challenging (from gold or black tees) and varied. A shame it is poorly cared for and staffed.

Buyer beware. When you get a $35 green fee on Golfnow.com for a resort course, you're going to get a $35 course. Played both courses (Conquistador and Canada) this week and neither is in very good condition. Fairways are dry, bare, and show a lot of brown. Greens are dry, have patches of stubble, and what seems like dirt in other places.
On future trips to Tucson, we'll pay more and get better courses. I actually expected more from this "resort" course.

It was poorly maintained. The tee boxes were full of divots as were the fairways. They had recently sanded the greens with what looked like hard-pan from the surrounding desert. The were tons of pea size pieces of gravel on the them. Maybe we were too early in their season but the course at Ventana was so far superior it had us scratching our heads.
