I stayed here several years ago and liked it very much so decided to give it another try. I was told that they had just completed a large renovation, which was true, but it showed mainly in the public spaces. The rooms had new carpet and drapes, but that was all. I had been travelling all day so decided to have dinner at the hotel with my daughter. It was 'Jazz Night' and th band was set up by the pool. We went down to the restaurant but the music was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation so we decided to have room service bring the food up. It took wuite a long time and the food was just so so. Beds were quite comfy. For the price, I'll stay the The Lodge on the Desert next time, a nice little hotel in the center of Tucson with great food and excellent service. The room price at the Lodge is also about $30 less than the Sheraton and nearly twice a large.

Thank you for sharing your review of our hotel. I'm glad that our public space and soft goods renovation was apparent on your trip, and hope that you enjoyed the changes! We definitely do have a lively atmosphere in the restaurant on our Jazz nights, which many of our guests enjoy, but glad you were able to relax with dinner in your room. I'm sorry to hear that the service was slow during this busy period, but hope that the your room provided the quieter more comfortable atmosphere to suit your needs. We would love the chance to host you again on another night and demonstrate the value we are normally able to provide for our guests. Please feel free to contact us directly should you be back in the area. Safe travels!

I would highly recomend this for people visiting Tucson for family events or business travel. This is not a Resort but has the feel of one. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was excellent.

I highly recomend this for people who are traveling to attend an event. This hotel is relaxing and very comfortable. This is a great place to unwind after a busy day. The Bar and grill has very good food and is nicely decorated. We were there during a time when we could enjoy the pool and then relax by the fire pits at night. (the s'mores were fun). My girlfriend and I were able to enjoy a few adult beverages while the kids roasted Marshmellows.

Don't let the street view fool you. It is an oasis inside. We were in Tucson to attend a wedding. We were at the hotel for the rest of the time enjoying the facilities. The rooms were a great size and again the "beds were delicious"

Loved the pool and bar located in an enclosed hotel. Very private from outside road adjacent to hotel.

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Sheraton regularly over the course of 18 months. A frequent business traveller, I've stayed in a fair share of hotels over the years, but I've never seen any where the staff treat you as well as they have us. The concierge staff's eyes and smiles lit up every time they checked us in, learning our names and remembering little details about all 20 of us from early on. The bar/restaurant staff treated us (and all other customers) incredibly well - in the end we had a hard time separating work from fun with the bar staff. The restaurant manager and General Manager himself will bend over backward to ensure that every guest is enjoying his/herself and even take the time to get to know as many as they can. I'm tempted to book a vacation in Tucson sometime just to see the hotel staff again!

The hotel is built in a beautiful Spanish/Arabic style in the shape of a triangle with the rooms around the outside and a center courtyard where the pool, recreation area and bar/restaurant. The food at the restaurant is incredible and very well priced. I recommend the fish tacos, the enchiladas, the steak or steak salad. Their grilled vegetables and desserts (including a rotating surprise "chocolate of the moment") are to die for. The suites are all spacious, clean and well-furnished with incredibly comfortable beds. The one downside we did encounter was that the internet was not always functional or fast enough for business use, but they've made huge improvements and the GM is actively working on the priority.

They also have jazz nights every Tuesday and Thursday where they bring in a good local band. All the patrons and many locals come out to sit by the pool and firepits to eat, drink and listen to the great music. I think they even have piano concerts on weekends, though I can't vouch for the quality.

All in all, a great place to stay for whatever reason brings you to Tucson. The staff will make your experience a memorable one!

They say third time is a charm, but not for me. 1st time I stayed there, the rooms were fine but were unfortunately woken up by some rowdy college kids that were eventually escorted out by the Tucson Police Department. The 2nd went well, was able to upgrade room and had a great view of the pool. But last and not least, the last stay was terrible. Stayed on the 19th of July, so yes I know its Arizona and hot but for the air conditioning not to be cooling is unimaginable. That evening I woke up at 1:30 A.M. sweating and then seeing my childrens heads completly wet with sweat is just wrong. I asked to change rooms which they complied but was only given another non cooling air conditioning room. They stated they were calling maintenence only after 5 other complaints had been called in also. Which then, they finally got the air going hours later.

I am so sorry that your most recent stay was not up to your standards. I certainly know how hot it can get in Arizona over the Summer and understand how uncomfortable your last stay must have been with the chiller going down during the night. We would love to have you back with us to give us another chance to show you how much we truly appreciate having you as a guest at our hotel.

Warm Regards,

Wow!! This place was great! I didn't even have to ask and they upgraded us to a suite. They had a cute little drink to welcome us in the lobby. The staff was nice and friendly, and the kids loved the pool, swam for hours!! The jazz band in the evening was just wonderful to listen to as we ate dinner. The food at their restaurant was so good.....I usually don't review the food, but it was excellent and moderately priced. The room was big and comfortable and the beds were just awesone!!

Had known about but not considered the Westin La Paloma due to price, but decided to give Tucson's best a try. The people there are great. The pools were busy - nice touch to separate the adult pool from the kiddos; country club next door with both hard court sand clay courts in good shape along with a lap pool. The golf course looked to be in great shape, but I did not have time to play it. Worth paying a little more to stay here.
