“Large room, big bed, lovely pool”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Very happy with our stay at this motel.
Large, clean room with a Mexican flavour. Wet area had a sink, bar fridge and small table and chairs. Bathroom also was in Mexican style with lovely tiles in the sink area.
We made use of the spa and pool - towels were available at the poolside for our convenience.
Pool was quite cold, but the spa was lovely.
We ate at their onsite restaurant but weren't overly impressed with the food, cocktails or service.
The location was good with a gas station and ice cream store a short walk down the road. There were most likely some restaurants close by as well, so if you dont want to eat at the motel, have a look around.
No complaints with the check in/out or with the overnight stay. Room was comfortable and quiet, despite there being a party happening near the poolside.
Complimentary Breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of seating available.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony/private patio.

Can't say many more good things that have not been said before. It started with the reservation. When I couldn't find a rate for the casitas(as recommended by many) I called the hotel. They said make a reservation and call back and they would change it to a casita. Done. Very clean, super decor and especially loved the tile shower with natural lighting. I had never seen this before in a hotel but there was adaptive equipment for handicapped people get into and out of the pool and the hot tub. Great breakfast in the big spacious restaurant. The ground were outstanding. Had a minor problem with the key lock but the staff was right on top of it. Good location for the 4 days we spent there and the we selected for our visit. It is a repeater.

Room Tip: Go for a casita, very quiet with nobody above or below.

We paid $89 for the best room, ambience one could ask for. Most attractive. Great pool, facilities.
Adobe style with tile accent. Big bedroom with fridge, microwave and table with chairs.
Big recommendation!

I recently spent 3 nights at the La Posada Lodge. The furnishings had a Mexican flavor- Saltillo tile in the bath and a handpainted headboard. The grounds were lovely with flowering shrubs, palm trees and grassy areas. The pool had a nice water fountain. Each room has a patio or balcony. Breakfast was included with reservation. It too had a southwest ambiance with huevos rancheros and good salsa. The attaches restaurant, Gringo's, had very good food and drinks. The hotel is right on Oracle, Rte. 77, but it was very quiet. The rear of the hotel overlooks Quail Ridge Golf Club. The location is convenient to great restaurants and shopping on the northwest side of Tucson. My only problem was the totally dark stairway that led to the lower level where I was staying. I reported it to the reception desk every morning for 3 straight mornings. It was still broken when I checked out. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.

Thank you so much for the kind comments. I am sorry that there was a lighting issue in the staircase and even more disappointed to hear it was not fixed. I have seen to it and discussed it with our staff. Thank you for pointing it out and thank you for staying with us.

I read a few disturbing things on TA but did not experience any serious negatives. I was unhappy about the room size at first, but it was clean and comfortable and spent most of my time at the pool or restaurant anyhow. A wonderful surprise to be in a resort style place, with above average food at the restaurant. It was quiet when we were there (end of April) and we thoroughly enjoyed the place. Safe feel, friendly, clean.
If you need a serious 5 star place you would pay 4x's more.

The idea of La Posada is great and the art is great at reception and detail to tile work in rooms.
Jose at front desk as well as John were gracious and helpful,
The room could've been cleaner (rugs and dust). Housekeeping was busy I guess as there were no tissue replacement or wash cloth replacements...we stayed 2 nights.
The adjacent restaurant Gringos had a great Happy hour.
would I go back....probably no.

Room Tip: ask for room on ground floor as you can hear street traffic on above

This hotel is setup with the rooms facing the parking lot. Floors are tiled in the southwest motif (as is the bathroom sink). I promptly took my shoes off, but the floor wasn't too clean . . . . It wasn't what we expected, but it was nice. We had a balcony overlooking a garden. It was odd to walk out to the parking lot and then walk through the front door, lobby then to the pool (saltwater).

We needed a laundry room - which La Posada doesn't have. Instead, we were directed to the Hampton Inn right next door - same owner. Weird setup, but it worked. The Hampton Inn front desk guy was friendly, as were the folks at La Posada.

Breakfast was in the restaurant - good food - standard hot fare as well as the breads and cereal. One could sit on the balcony of the restaurant overlooking the pool too.
