After eating at a Golden Corral in Yuma, AZ, for the first time in the summer, I was eager to try another one when I visited Tucson, AZ. This restaurant looked the same as the other one and the food was the same, too.

Walking in, you pay a cashier, who also takes and fills your drink order; if you want coffee, a server will come to your table with it. Otherwise, everything is buffet-style. There are tons of selections! There's a big salad bar; a Southern-food, Asian, pasta, vegetables, bread and rolls sections; a huge dessert area--and you almost never have to wait for the food because emplyees keep filling up the trays/pans. The food is not especially creative or cutting-edge, and it certainly isn't haute cuisine, but if you are hungry and want a meal that is excellent value, this is definitely a place to go to. At the dessert section, there is something called a "Chocolate Wonderfall," and it's lots of fun: It's a spinning rotisserie with melted chocolate on it and when you touch strawberries to it, the fruit gets covered in chocolate.

My group wasn't sure if we should tip the server, who served us coffee and took away our used plates (you get more at central stations) but after checking with the cashier, we did. Our server was really nice, too, so we wanted to show our appreciation.

The restaurant was always pretty much filled with customers but we didn't have to wait to find a table for four people. There isn't much in the way of atmosphere but this isn't the kind of place you go to for that. They offer a senior discount too, which is nice. So, overall, a great place if you want an all-you-can-eat restaurant with decent food.

We especially like the salad bar, it's so very fresh. We also liked the steak, which is done to our liking. Also, the fish is usually pretty good as is the dessert bar. The only thing we found not to our liking is that sometimes the baked potatos are not done.

We visited this restaurant just by accident, because we had just arrived Tuscon and we just needed food close to our hotel. Well we just followed locals to the cashier and took two buffet meals, without knowing what kind of place this was. Soon we realised we had found a vast variety buffet with almost every dish you could imagine. Some dishes were supricely good. There were also healthy options and pretty good salad buffet, which was not popular among the locals.

Golden Corral is not real restaurant and as the previous reviewer wrote "server" was just there to clean dirty plastic plates and for refill sodas. So it was a little bit weird to pay tips just for that.

So I decided to give four stars for this restaurant due to value for money. The buffet costs like 11 dollars plus 2 dollars for drinks. So compared the the price level, the variety of the buffet was good.

The food was decent, although the dessert options were limited. There were 17 in our party so we had the banquet area to ourselves. Made it nice to talk with everyone. The "server" was friendly and gave prompt service. I put server in quotes because all she did was refill drinks and remove used plates. But we tipped her good since it is the holidays!
