I enjoyed every minute of my stay, the hotel was beautiful and the food was amazing! The staff was always curtious and very polite. The waiter in the Signature Grill (Max) was extrememly nice and always ensured we were taken care of!! I will be reccommending this place to everyone.. I look forward to staying here again!

This is one of the best properties in Tucson/Phoenix. It's set in Tucson Mountain Park, an area that abuts the Saguaro National Park. The property takes full advantage of its spectacular saguaro forest setting; the views from any direction are wonderful. The staff is friendly and attentive; the public areas are nothing short of spectacular; the rooms are large, comfortable, and well maintained. Despite the remarkable setting, it's also only 5-10 minutes to downtown Tucson, which has a thriving dining scene. The pools are lovely and huge -- and again, take full advantage of the mountains and saguaro forest. There are no downsides to this property and if you are looking to stay in beautiful lodge in a national park-quality setting, you'll find the JW Marriott Starr Pass totally fits the bill. I travel a LOT and this is one of my favorite hotels in the whole country.

Room Tip: The rooms located just above the Salud bar have a great "city view" but are louder than those in other buildings because of the bar (which stays open late).

This resort is absolutely beautiful! The staff is very polite and attentive. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. There is a full bathroom soaker tub and separate shower in a glass enclosure. The grounds are amazing. The pools are sparkly clean. The best part of the pool area is the lazy river! At night the terrace is the place to be sitting around the fire pits over looking the wonderful view of the mountains! We were there on a company awards function. The food was wonderful, breakfast, lunch & dinner!!!! There is a great trail right off the resort grounds to bike or hike on, we hiked the trail and what a beautiful hike we enjoyed it very much. This resort is very family orientated but at the same time a great getaway for a couple as well!!! We had a wonderful time!

We were most impressed with the JW Marriott in Tucson. Excellent service and friendly employees. We had especially good treatment at the restaurant from Max and his darling wife, Jude was the best!!!, and Trisk .
Clean room and great food.
They need to buy new ping pong paddles and balls is only complaint... Ha
We will come again !!

Room Tip: Room facing valley and pool is best

I took my family here to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. Living not far from here and having a
**multi-star'd**resort just minutes away seemed like a natural for the special occasion!...( boy! did i assume wrongly )..Firstly, we arrived at the "only" parking area at ...one end of the resort only to find that the restaurants were completely at the other end of the property. So we strolled through the conference areas, the executive/business room areas, a lobby greeting area, accommodation entrance area, spa/ saloon entrance area, commercial store area, conference greeting lobby area, across and open air bridge between accommodation wings, thru the main registration/lobby, to the elevator to go down to the signature grill. yes a trudge!
Here finally! We were meet with a friendly reception..led past many open areas of table to a table at the farthest end we could have gone to and in an area with two families at the surrounding tables both with young boisterous children and loud "me first" parents. (Oh! well
they look like they're nearly finished and should leave soon) (second bad assumption)
We went ahead and and placed our special orders and went to the open serving areas.
The bakery area: no bagels, no croissants, no plain buns/rolls...just various sliced bread loaves for toast.......no real butter either! oh yeah several dry looking nuffins
The cereal area: package cereal..one granola mix...a very nice selection of nuts etc! no
hot cereal or yogurts etc!
The deli area: a very nice smoked salmon loxes...a smoked rind cheese and a cubed cheese...yup that's it!
The fruit bar: was excellent..berries..apples..bananas..pineapple..grapes..unaltered
The warm food area: (more tepid than warm) a potole stew...(oh! here's) the gluey oatmeal
...seasoned quarter cut fried potatoes in something orange and oily...very nice slightly
seasoned link sausage ( the ones that were neither shriveled or white)...tasty bacon strips
that shattered when biten into ( i did say tasty) and then the scrambled eggs....would like to know how they make them look like powdered or milk carton eggs...glad i ordered the
omelet
The egg station: it was hot a least! and nice selection of veggie items...cheese (well! looked and tasted packaged).. bacon bits...hard..........back to the table!
The Belgium waffle already back at the table...cold and soggy not a crisp edge in sight..the one strawberry sliced in 10ths was great on the side with the whipped ...lite cream melting in its pool of white milk......the eggs benedict ....a las! the missing muffin nicely poached egg with a slight covering of very airrrrrrrrrrrrrrry holindais ....and last but the not
least ....HASHBROWNS...these were milk carton or frozen ..smashed into the grill and blacked!
Coffee blah no flavor! (maxwell/folger's would have been better)...reorder earl gray tea
(must be something in their water) it was also tasteless.....oh' maybe the juice? (our choice
orange or orange).......... and the ice water never was!
The views....not when the curtains are pulled at the next tables...which are still full of loud
me first and monsters
the wait service was friendly but invisible! hence no tip!........all this for $24.00 plus tax each!
IN SHORT I've had far better in every category for far less in non STAR'd restaurants around the world! and in even most truck stops around the US...and they have sneeze guards around everything !

Dear RUSTIC-AZ,

We sincerely apologize for your less than satisfactory experience with our food and beverage as well as the service and layout of the resort that you mentioned in your post. It is especially disappointing in light of the fact that Signature Grill is known for its consistency and quality, especially when it comes to our breakfast buffet. It sounds as if we missed an opportunity to showcase this on all fronts on Sunday. The quality of the experience you described above is nowhere near the standards to which we hold ourselves for our scratch-made breakfast items and attentive service.

We are taking appropriate steps to address the concerns noted in your review. Thank you for allowing us to learn about your experience. If I can be of further assistance feel free to contact me directly at chad.lybrook@marriott.com

Warm regards,

Chad Lybrook
