“Hike,walk,run,ride”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

No matter how you want to view Pima Canyon the choice is yours but don't miss this great place. Every season is different but you will always need water to keep hydrated.
If you decide to ride there is a fee, but you can get off and on at any stop. If you are a hiker you will find many options and won't be disappointed. Just be prepared and aware this is a natural habitat. Also the weather, especially in the summer can change fast.
Because I live here When friends come into town its one of the first places we go.
Have fun!

“Good hike with friends”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

Visiting friends in Tucson. They wanted to take us here, was a great hike! More varied than most I've been on in the area. Starts out with typical desert hike, great view of Tucson. Eventually get into the canyon with different foliage. Not much water when we were there, but our friends say usually end up crossing creek and hearing water most of the time. Definitely a "hiking boots" trail, with no water and no restrooms. Beautiful hike.

“Hiking the Pima Canyon Trail.”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

This is a hike, not a walk in the woods. Leave the flip flops & deck shoes at the pool. Good sturdy athletic shoes are OK but proper hiking boots are better. Your feet will be sore at the end of this hike. Shorts & short sleeve shirts are OK but you will get scratched from bushes, etc. Will need sun screen, water & large brim hat, unless you prefer sunburn & dehydration. The trail is easy to follow with only a few difficult areas. This is a popular trail and you are sure to encounter other hikers. If you want to get the most out of your hike go solo or only with others who do not need to talk the entire hike. As your eyes will be on the trail at your feet it is good to listen to the sounds from the desert mountain. Take your time and pause to take in the scenic views and the surrounding plants, rocks, etc. I often find a place to sit and look down the canyon to our city in the valley and the mountains in the distance. This is the desert and most of the year it is dry & dusty. If you are here after a recent rain or the monsoon season you will be treated to the beauty this place has to offer. The photos I am including were taken in Feb 2013. Enjoy you hike on the Pima Canyon Trail. There are no facilities of any kind. Please take out anything that you take in with you.

“Beautiful Trail”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 via mobile

Pima Canyon Trail is one of the most beautiful trails in Tucson. It's located pretty close to the city and is very easy to get to. The views are absolutely amazing, you can see almost the entire city. Heads up though, there are no restroom facilities so plan ahead.

“Quiet wildlife area just outside the big city.”
Reviewed 12 May 2013 via mobile

The Pima Canyon Trail Head is a nice parking area above the hot and busy city of Tucson. Cool and quiet. The hiking trail is well used and safe. This is located on the edge of the Saguaro National Forest. Many cacti and species of wildlife to see.
