“Awesome stay”
Reviewed 9 January 2012

While visiting our son in the Air Force, the Embassy Suite our home away from home for the Thanksgiving weekend. Was a beautiful hotel & staff was exceptional, All staff met you with a smile and hello. At check in, we met Brian, very helpful & made a great first impression for himself as well as the hotel. He let us know right away all the fine amenities that we could expect from the hotel and staff. And I have to say was the best we've had while staying at an Embassy Suites. Evening manager's reception was awesome, offered beverages, snacks, games and great conversation. Rooms large, clean, comfortable. Loved the large 3 person shower. Great views of the mountains. Close to shopping, hiking, restraunts. Won't stay anywhere else when visiting our son in Tucson. Have recommended it to may friends and family already. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so wonderful and enjoyable.

Room Tip: not sure there is a bad room, all have balconies, some face the mountains, some the pool area. gues...

We stayed at this Hotel over Christmas . The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and efficient. One niggle is the lack of internet in the rooms .
The main problem for me is the design of the rooms as the aircon units seem to resonate and the bathroom fan is on constantly creating quite a high noise level in the bedroom . This is a shame as it kept me awake, perhaps I am particularly sensitive to noise and others may not be affected.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our hotel on Tripadvisor. I was happy to read that you enjoyed the breakfast and found our staff to be friendly and efficient. I would like to apologize for the noise level in the rooms and for the wired only internet in our suites. We are currently working on replacing the current system and adding wireless internet. I hope you will consider our hotel in the future the next time your travels bring you to Tucson.

Nothing negative to say. Lovely hotel, nice upscale location, AWESOME breakfasts and managers reception. Helpful staff and nice rooms. Only negative would be the pillows...all down filled and I hate down but other than that it is a perfect place for a family exploring the Tuscon area. Rates were also cheap bc it was over the holidays but I have never stayed at an Embassy suites and felt ripped off for the price vs. solid consistent quality! If you have a family Embassy Suites can't be beat. I stayed at Holiday Inns in other towns on this trip and they were pretty weak and charged a lot more for their tasteless breakfasts and insipid service.

First time staying at an Embassy Suites, normally stay at one of the other Hilton brands.
Pleasantly surprised on the Value, got our room for $118, maybe price was better during the holiday versus prime season. Great value when you think about the free night managers reception (free drinks) and full hot breakfast, including omelette station. Very nice rooms and condition of the hotel is excellent. We walked to Tavolino's one night. And drove, but could have walked to the shopping area and ate at Blanco Taco's on New Years eve. Highly recommend if you can get a favorable room rate.

I spent 7 nights with my daughter and her grandpa around Halloween 2011. Pros: cooked to order omelets, two types of homemade salsas (awesome!), free drinks during happy hour/good bartender, Starbucks in the same strip-mall, very cool jack-o-lantern in lobbey, upscale shopping mall across street (with upscale restaurants) and a backdrop of picturesque Catalina Mountains. Cons: 1st, Pool (throughout the whole week) burned our eyes and skin like no other pool I've been in anywhere!!! 2nd, I had repeated hallway carpet cleanliness issues (eg I notified front desk after check-in that half eaten doughnut in hallway in front of a specific room number...it had not been removed when I strolled by some 40 minutes later; another hallway leading out to South side of pool had crumbs on it for 3 days...then it was vacuumed up by a worker who was liberally applying some type of cleaner from a pump spray bottle in a broadcast pattern, which filled the air in the hallway with nasty chemical smells for days).
I rated overall "very good" because I believe the CONS I encountered could be avoided in the future, and it is a very good hotel relative to other Embassy Suites branded hotels in Tucson and elsewhere. I paid $130 per night, and feel it was a reasonable value primarily because of the three free breakfasts we enjoyed each morning. BTW, I've been to plenty of "free breakfast" hotels where the breakfast was inedible...this hotel's breakfast was looked forward to by all of us every morning.

Thank you very much for posting your comments on Tripadvisor. I was pleased to read that you enjoyed our breakfast, Managers Reception and location. I do apologize about the pool being over chlorinated and the condition of the corridors during your stay. I have addressed those issues and we will work hard to ensure they do not happen in the future. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in Tucson!

This is a wonderful hotel, much more of a resort feel than a typical Embassy Suites. Only down side (or upside depending on your trip goals) is that it is not located near the freeway or by the sites. So, you have to drive quite a bit to get to it. It was fine for us since we weren't going in and out much, but be sure and map it against your desired sites to see the time it takes on city streets to get to it.

Other than that, nothing bad. Very nice place.

Great Hotel. Unlike many Embassy Suites it does not have an 1980's feel to it. It has a modern southwestern vibe. Breakfast and freer cocktails better than expected. Great location to many shopping areas and great view of the mountains.
