Honestly, I was looking for a hotel, any hotel, near the Start/Finish line of a 5K my cousin and I were doing together. The Royal Elizabeth was right across the street from all the festivities. Then I saw that the price was more than double the price of other hotels in the area, so I looked into other choices. Unfortunately for me, there really just wasn't anything closer and more convenient for the race, so I decided to splurge and just book there.
It turned out to be SO WORTH IT. The room was lovely. We were able to just walk out of our room, around a little fence, to the pool and hot tub, located in a quaint garden area behind a wall that kept us from really knowing we were downtown Tucson. We were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub well into the evening.
Breakfast was spectactular! We felt like we were judges on a cooking show. The items were delicious, nutritious and were plated beautifully. We were even treated to a fresh 3-fruit blend juice. Jake, the inkeeper, seemed to magically appear when we needed him and disappear into thin air when we did not.
