Beautiful, quiet property with unique architecture and history. Such a lovely change from chain hotels and surprisingly reasonable too, especially given the amenities (coffee, in-room frig, free internet and parking, afternoon tea etc.). The staff members are incredibly polite and helpful. I stayed for three nights during a complicated move and felt so refreshed, it was like having stayed at a world-class spa for three weeks. Great location near the University and the medical center.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and it was lovely. Beautiful landscaping on the grounds, a delicious (free) High Tea in the afternoon, & chocolates on your pillow. Coffee maker in the room with Starbucks coffee. Also a small refrigerator with water bottles. (This was convenient for us, because we kept some fruit and sodas in the frig). We ate dinner in the piano bar, and it was delicious. The room is set up more like a villa...we had our own little patio as do most of the units. The service was friendly and very accommodating. It's an older historic building site, rooms are clean as a whistle, and good beds, pillows, etc. I took a stroll around the grounds, taking photos of a fountain and the beautiful setting, in general. The pool had steam coming off it, so I know it was warm!

We arrived exhausted later in the afternoon. We ate an early dinner in the bar. Excellent food and margaritas but far more food than we thought we were ordering. We were too stuffed.

We were in bed before 8:00 and it was absolutely quiet all through the night, the following day and night.

Beautiful grounds, nice amenities, good food...

It isn't cheap, but there's an interesting history there and it does have a real feel of the "old days" of privileged travel.

We traveled to the Arizona Inn on our way to SoCal. We stopped in Tucson for a few days of rest prior to seeing a bunch of family. We thought that the Inn could deliver the much needed chill that we were craving.

The bungalow and grounds were beautiful and historic. We were three adults traveling, so a bungalow, rather then a standard hotel room was a necessity. I feel this one offered the space needed for comfort. It is a historic hotel, though, so if you are looking for crisp and contemporary, this is not for you.

We made use of the pool, and chose the poolside bar for dining for multiple meals. I feel this was a better value then the main restaurant. The ice cream bar in the afternoon was also a nice touch. We also used the fitness center and played croquet, which were both nice distractions.

The Arizona Inn was built in the 1930's and has been lovingly maintained by the the founding family ever since. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are impeccable.

Everything about this resort bespeaks the elegance of a bygone era.

The Arizona Inn is a delightful place in the heart of Tucson near the U of A and is a great place for exploring the city and its environs.

We visit Tucson about 2 or 3 times a year for the R&R factor. This was supposed to be a weekend of just that per the Arizona's Inn self described first few words on their website - "Privacy, Quiet & Sunshine". We absolutely did not experience quiet, privacy, but did have sunshine.
The good - no hidden resort fees, good wifi, great bed, Ted the Bellman, Fridge in the room, nice and dark for sleeping in, tennis courts are awesome.
The bad:
The hotel management let a family of about 25, mostly kids under 12 over-run the entire place, from the moment we got there on Saturday afternoon, the kids were screaming, doing their school cheers all over the property, leaving garbage, hogging the courtyard and generally taking over. Their parents were just as bad yelling across the property to their kids, drinking, bad manners, and management did nothing. Even our really expensive, and not remarkable dinner at 8pm at night was ruined by kids screaming and yelling, other patrons asked to be reseated as to not have to listen to this horrible family. Our outdoor breakfast the next morning, starting at 8am, was more of the same screaming and school cheers in the courtyard.
The pool needs to have adult swim hours, more kids yelling.
The rooms are old, so bathrooms are small, with not a lot of counter space as females need, very simple, and the curtain from a shower window touches you while showering.
We did pay extra to get a room with a patio--so happens our neighbors were loud "coughers" and talkers, and the patio offered no respite from noise, as well as loud coughing and talking until about 10pm at night. In the morning it sounded like the person above us was doing aerobics.
It must be 1980, as the beer choices were terrible-really-Bud, Coors, Corona.. not even a Fat Tire, no craft beer - we decided it was so pitiful we brought our own in, at least to the pool..which was cool that the staff didn't bother us about it, they probably were embarrassed to say their most exotic beer was Modelo or some crap like that....
Food at pool - how can the chef ruin a grilled chicken sandwich..it had some things on it that didn't work together. Overall, all food here was disappointing, menu needs and update, needs some organic or farm to table options, especially for the price. (French Onion was not hot, Mediterranean appetizer had no flavor..could go on, but we went to Kingfisher a mile away for a real meal). The dinner service had no charm, personality, our waiter looked like he hated his job.
I can't believe we spent this much money and feel disappointed. If you are looking for a quiet spot that does it right, I recommend Los Poblanos Inn in New Mexico. We won't be returning to Arizona Inn but we will be returning to Los Poblanos Inn for the excellent food, quiet, service is impeccable - plus a huge room and shower with excellent farm to table food.
