“Great Hotel for the Price”

This is an older hotel but it is maintained very nicely. The whole facility is clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very quiet, clean but slightly dated. Getting to them requires some navigation.

Best beds in the world. Room smelled very fresh and was very clean Wonderful view if the gardens. Very close to everything. Great bathroom as well. Wonderful staff and great cookies. I would recommend this Doubletree to all of my friends and coworkers and look forward to staying here again.

I have to say that I agree with some of the other reviews in that the decor and overall condition of the rooms are a bit dated. And, the room 'freshener' is so overpowering that I was thankful that the window opened for fresh air ventilation.

That said, I'd definitely stay at this property again because the beds were GREAT and the customer service of their staff team was EXCELLENT. The only exception was housekeeping - not so much. They only put shower gel in the room one day, and when I called down three times, they brought up SHAMPOO. Still, from the front desk to the restaurant manager, you really can't ask for a friendlier or more customer-focused team. When there were hiccups, they worked them out. You really can't ask for more than that. The onsite food wasn't bad at all - in fact, breakfast was pretty good, as was the Lime Chicken Salad. All in all, if you're traveling for business in Tuscon, I definitely recommend this spot. OH -and select a room with a view of the mountains!

The room was not bad, although our view was of the hotels discarded linen dumpster. Yuck!!! the lobby sported upholstered furnishings and carpets that looked, and smelled, as if they had not been cleaned in years!! I do not recommend the food either. eat the cookies, they were good.

Room insulation is bad. You could hear people talk,snore ... Bed,pillows are just average. In overall, the hotel just meets minimum standard, not great. We expect more since it is a Double Tree/Hilton. The lobby furniture are old. Breakfast food selection were poor, very minimum. We stayed for 5 days and most mornings we found the same food. Very limited selection of bread. We chose this hotel was because it is across from the Refkin where the National Tennis tournament was held. If there were another brand hotel, we would not chose this hotel next time. The hotel is not too bad, but don't expect much.

This location does not live up to the brand name. It is good overall, but does not meet brand expectations. The property and rooms show their age [although eel kept and clean]. The critical area like food and beverage are not properly staffed and service quality suffers. Such a great lobby bar and NO bartender to provide a host service. The Cantina is fine, but NOT all travelers are "Cantina" type guest. Food derive was poor and food quality was also poor. Staff are great, but have no control of the issues I am pointing to. That's Corporate and Management! They need to decide if the hotel is going to be average or "great".

The hotel is a nice choice in Tucson. The lobby and building exterior are a little worn down, but rooms are nicely finished. The fitness center is in good condition with a nice assortment of equipment.
