I'm a little late with my review, but I just made another reservation for 4 nights in March and noticed there were some bad reviews of this motel. It's true this isn't a resort or spa motel for either it's location or ambience, but for a decent clean motel it is very good. We stayed here last year for just a couple nights, but it made a good impression that we thought we'd stay here again this year. The year before we stayed at the Hampton Inn on Grant Road, just a little north of the Ramada and while it was a "little" more fancy, for the extra money it cost, wasn't worth it IMO. Another thing, it doesn't seem to be in a bad neighborhood and we never felt threatened staying here.

When we travel we really aren't in to the resort experience, we're more into going out and looking at nature and doing touristy things, going to spring training games, concerts, etc., not sitting by a pool all day or golfing. So with that in mind, this motel perfectly suited us. It's close to the interstate, but I never heard any road noise, we felt perfectly safe there, the room was spacious and clean. It had all the amenties we needed. There was no microwave or refrig, but that wasn't a big deal. There is a Denny's right next door and the motel has a very nice breakfast bar complete with do it yourself waffles. The desk clerks were helpful and friendly. He let us check in early as our flight got in early. There's a computer you can use in the lobby also.

I'd say if you're looking for a basic clean motel, this is the spot for you!

We were very disappointed with the hotel. The staff could use a course in "customer service". They were unfriendly, and I felt I was annoying them, if I asked for anything - like towels and washclothes. One of each is not enough, and that is what we found when we got to our room. The room was dirty, especially the carpet. There was not a refrigerator or microwave in our room. We were under the impression that there would have been. The hotel is in need of some serious renovations. We also felt unsafe at the hotel. One thing that was good about the hotel was the continental breakfast. It was great!

This motel is a former LaQuinta. The decor is exactly like the one we stayed at in Phoenix, but the rooms are smaller and not as well-lit, nor was the bed as comfortable. We paid $69.00/night for a king-sized bed, and the room had wireless internet access. This is not a bad price for Tucson in the high season, I guess. We did not use the pool - it rained the whole time we were there - but it looked nice. All the really nice restaurants are clear across town on the east side of Tucson, but there is a Denny's restaurant right next door - walk there. The staff I saw were all busy maintaining the place. They only had one wafflemaker, so there was always a wait to make a waffle in the morning. The spread was nice, but there was no source of protein other than milk and yogurt. Fresh fruit, danish, cereal, tea breads and muffins, 3 kinds of juice were available. There was also a computer w/internet access for guests to use in the lobby. We'd stay here again if we couldn't get a hotel on the east side. We stayed here because it was one of the few hotels that had broadband internet access that wasn't full! We called about two days in advance, not knowing it was the high season.

The Ramada calls itself a hotel , and looks like one in the internet photos, but it is really just an average highway motel. They have a few bicycles for guests but it is not in a part of town where a tourist would go riding. Our room was adequate, but not more than that. The breakfast was O.K. and the desk staff friendly. We were in Tucson on vacation, so we just spent one night at Ramada and then moved to something nicer. If you are just passing thru and need one night it is O.K.
