“Fantastic place for pets!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2012

We were traveling cross country with our dog and stopped here for the night. We were completely blown away by how pet friendly they are. Most hotels charge a pet fee and offer nothing for your pet, but Loews gave us dog bowls, a placemat, bags and treats. The bellman also offered to take our dog on a walk or to come by and play with him while we were out. On top of that you can sit at tables just outside the restaurant (but inside) and eat your meals with your dog. Very cool! The resort is beautiful and it has nice amenities as well. We would definitely stay here again with our without our dog!

Room Tip: Ask for a city view room and you get to see the lights of Tucson at night. Beautiful!

My husband planned a birthday retreat for my birthday this year. We invited 3 other couples to stay overnight. The accommodations were superb and the staff very accommodating. Our group dinner at the Flying V restaurant on the premises was very good. Service was terrific. We would highly recommend this resort for group functions.

Quiet, low key resort hotel with great views of the Catalina mountains, Great food service and lots of friendly help. Live music was a plus. Sunday brunch was outstanding. Happy Hour snacks were very reasonable and easily substituted for dinner. Do not recommend seafood at the Flying V. Go to AJs at Campbell road and Skyline Drive for great breakfast and bakery if you want a change of pace. Do participate in Stargazing activities.

Room Tip: Request mountain view, as opposed to city view.

It is unusual for us to return to the same hotel twice but we loved our first visit to the Loews and were lucky enough to go back for a week recently.

We were treated to a wonderful room with views out of the back of the hotel to the waterfall and the desert beyond and this is definitely the highlight of the Loews, its fabulous location straight onto the desert. The gardens and pool area are absolutely beautiful.

The staff were all professional and helpful. We particularly appreciated the Concierge who went out of her way to help us with an event we had pre-booked from the UK and arranged a taxi company which were very reliable and helpful. Also the pool staff were friendly and constantly helpful and the gentleman who took us to our room on arrival, who was really welcoming and friendly.

My only minor criticism is that I didn't think the menu in the Cascade Lounge was quite as varied as last time we stayed, although the food was good. The Flying V restaurant was great and we had some excellent breakfasts too.

I hope that we may be lucky enough to visit again sometime.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back on higher floors look out over the desert, rooms at the front look out over the ci...

We went in April so the resort was fairly open and we were able to have the luxury at a great price. This is my second visit, the last time in October, and highly recommend golf, jeep rides in the Sonoran desert and margaritas and table side guacamole made by Melissa at the Flying V. Also MUST try the Sunday brunch! My favorite place in Tucson!

Room Tip: Higher floors have fantastic views, east wing very quiet!

I first stayed at this resort on a business trip not too long after it opened over 20 years ago... it left a very positive impression at the time.

My wife and I decided to visit Tuscon for a few days at the end of March (2012) and I knew I had to try this resort again, this time for vacation.... We were both impressed once again. The location is ideal nestled at the foot of the Santa Catalina mountains in the more affluent neighborhoods north of the city. The views of the city and surrounding mountains were spectacular and we were only 5 minutes from great hiking at Sabino Canyon. (BTW: I highly recommend the "East Wing" of the resort 3rd or 4th floor for the most quiet rooms with great views.)

There are some great restaurants within a few minutes drive time (the Flying V is a great spot right on the property, as well).

I know there have been quite a few new resorts built in the last 20 years, but I am happy to find the Ventana Canyon Resort as great as I remembered.

We spent 5 nights at this resort. We had a very clean and beautiful room with a great view of the Catalina Mountains. Nice pool area, very good food, friendly service. We enjoyed massages at the spa and live music in the bar area. The only bummer was that there was no refridgerator in our room (except the mini bar). We are not golfers, but the courses looked very well-kept.
