My family and I stayed in this hotel during a road trip. We really liked this hotel. The two-story loft style room was huge, modern, and clean. The lobby was nice and well equipped. The full hot breakfast was reasonably good. The weather in the Tucson area had the usual hot temperatures typical of summer and the air conditioner worked very well. The high speed Internet was fast and connected easily The location is convenient to the University of Arizona and there are many restaurants nearby.

This is the second time I stay in this particular hotel, and it always exceeds my expectation. The hotel has a very friendly staff and the room is just like home with all the necessary essentials. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet has a nice selection of food, and the dining room is open early enough for people who are on the go. The evening social hour with home made food is exceptionally nice, not to mention free beer and wine. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Tucson.

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for 8 days which included Super Bowl Sunday. We had a 2 bedroom (one a loft) with 2 baths, a full kitchen (used to prepare food to bring to Super Bowl party!) and 3 flat screen TVs! There was plenty of space and we even had room to host reconciliation between the three brothers. Location was very convenient for us as we were within 20 minutes drive to visit family, Gem & Mineral Show and work in Oro Valley. The grounds were immaculately kept and the food at the breakfast (especially the make-your-own waffles) and manager’s reception was plentiful and good. The staff at breakfast and front-desk was very helpful and kind. Reasonably priced and excellent food restaurants were within easy walking distance (barbecue, Italian deli, Japanese and Chinese buffet) (Note to previous review: area didn’t seem run down at all to me.) Only con we had was that our room was next to the highway and we could hear the traffic noise from inside the room so if quiet is important to you, ask for a room in the back!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back do not get traffic noise from highway.

This hotel is a good deal, especially if you are a larger group staying in one of their suites. Our family stayed in a loft suite that had plenty of room for everyone. With two bedrooms (one a loft) and two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room area, our family of 6 was very comfortable.
Pros: very good buffet breakfast (hot and cold options); clean; reasonable prices
Cons: the neighborhood is a little run-down (but we were surprised how much of Tucson seems to be this way), but they do have a security guard at night (my husband was getting something from our car in the parking lot at 11:30 at night, and the guard stopped him to ask to see his room key - comforting to know someone is being watchful, but disturbing such watchfulness is needed); not close to many of the Tucson attractions, but U of A is not too far away down Speedway Blvd.

We go to Tucson for a long weekend a couple of times a year, and have tried numerous hotels. Finally found this Residence Inn, and now stay there consistently. We usually stay on the nights that are discounted because there are fewer business travelers. We like the fact that they have full kitchens, a desk to work or to sit at and eat.
The breakfast has improved since the previous time we'd been there, with even more hot items. The service personnel are very helpful. There are 1 or 2 circulating in the bkfst area, and 1 that hosts the manager's reception, which took place only 1 of the 3 nights we were there (it's on weeknights). The people at the front desk are always helpful. I only had a problem with signing onto the WiFi, because the sign with instructions was not well placed in the room.
This Residence Inn is close to a Trader Joe's, a Bookman's book store, and lots of restaurants on Wilmot and Tanque Verde.

Room Tip: You might want to be away from the ball court where kids are bouncing balls frequently.

Our room had been updated. It was clean and check-in was a breeze. Location was okay, but traffic can be an issue in this section of the city. I used Marriott points without any problems.
