1st class facility and excellent amenities, staff are wonderful too. There is also a 27 hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, played it and cheap rates for afternoon games $79 plus rental clubs at $40 well worth the 4.5 hrs to play, cool scenery. No complaints.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the pool and amenities.

We are glad that you had a great golf experience at Westin La Paloma. It’s always hard to decide which is better, our Nicklaus designed course or the amazing views of the Catalina’s. Play Well, Glenn Sampert, General Manager

I so wanted to love this place. With a room reserved over a month in advance and requests to the reservation agent that it was a very special occasion, my husband's 70th birthday, and we wanted to be someplace special, I had great expectations.

Sadly, the hotel did not deliver. On the positive side the staff from check in to housekeeping to restaurant, and everybody In between, were awesome. They saved the stay from being a bummer.

We did get our promised mountain view, but also faced a very busy road that was so noisy we couldn't leave the balcony doors open to enjoy the lovely cool, fresh air. To top it off one of the curtains was broken and the light on the desk didn't work. The maintenance man did fix the curtain. There was no note, chocolates, nothing to wish my husband a happy birthday, it did come the next night, but it should have been there the first night! All this for $269 a night, before taxes, etc. When I called to express my concerns about the noise they said they could move us in an hour, but we were tired and didn't want to deal with having to pick up and move after being on the road for nearly 8 hours. The front desk person did deduct the $20 resort fee from our room bill to try to appease us.

The food at Azul was good. The pools are great, but busy and loud. The walking paths that wind through the huge property are nice. But to wrap it up this property is huge, some 600 rooms, so if you like big, active and noisy, this property may be for you, if you like quiet, small and personalized service, go to a smaller hotel!

Again, the staff saved the day. Kudos to them for trying to make what could have been an awful stay into an acceptable one.

This was my (and my family's) first time in Tucson, AZ, so naturally our first time at this resort. Good people, nice venue, striking views. I want to give a special shout-out to one of the food servers (group events, specifically mornings): Ruben (sorry, I didn't get his last name). He was so attentive, accommodating and especially nice to my daughter (who is a special needs teen). Ruben was helpful, sensitive, friendly and highly hospitable - the model of what anyone working in the service industry should strive for. We were fortunate that there were unseasonably warm temperatures to enjoy. While I did meetings, my wife and daughter got 100% enjoyment from the pool and outdoor areas. Bravo, La Paloma & Westin.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view. They are friendly giants that will wake you with a smile every morning.

This is a typical convention and meeting hotel. It's large and service is disinterested and largely disorganized. We were given a room that hadn't been cleaned and then moved twice after that. The breakfast at Azul was awful and not worthy of any SPG property. It was particularly disappointing given the great food in Tucson proper. On the plus side, the rooms are large and the pool area attractive. Added note, beware the Murphy bed, it was really uncomfortable.

This place was awesome. Customer Service great. Gave us choices of building and told us advantages of each. Stayed in building a couple up from pool with balcony that had mountain view. The BEST part was the five swimming pools and jacuzzi's ALL heated!!!! I am a water nut and this was fabulous. They even had a really tall tube slide which was GREAT for adults, fast and fun and warm too. It was open ALL the time. Usually water slides always are closed for some reason or another yet this one was manned even when no one was there. Swim up pool bar. The pool bar service included 18% gratuity which is a little steep but guess they need to make $. Free self-parking and not a far walk at all. The in house restaurant/bar had good bar food choices. The restaurants available down about 1 mile have everything you could want: Sports Bar, Italian or pizza, outdoor patio eating. They even have a free shuttle service.

Our family is still enjoying this resort as I write this review. We are here for Valentines weekend. The resort is beautiful the minute you enter the main driveway. Checkin was quick n pleasant. They had a golf cart follow us to the free self parking and then take you and your luggage to your room, which was very convenient. The room is very nice and clean - modern n updated with no tacky decor. In fact the whole resort was tastefully decorated throughout. We had Valentines dinner at Azul, also dinner in the lounge n lunches from Courtside Deli n poolside - all their food is fresh and very good. The pools are great. I love that theres 5 pool area n several jacuzzis. Thanh at the pool slide area was so sweet with our toddler. The chaise lounges are very comfy. What really stood out for myself and my husband was the level of the staff service, especially the managers. You see them in their suits throughout your stay and they acknowledge you and smile and check how everything is. They just seem really present and sincere. After dinner this evening, our 3 yr old wanted to do smores at the beautiful fire/water pit, we inquired at the lounge and Azul, but everyone appeared stumped about the request. A manager came out to meet with my husband and informed us that there were no smore kits as we were misinformed yesterday by a waiter who offered it to us. The manager said he would find out more - minutes later he came down with a bowl of marshmellows and skewers to make ado. We were really surprised the extra effort and care he went through just for marshmellows for our daughter. Most people do not go that extra effort especially a manager in our experience - our request would had ended at the first inquiry. This resort is 5 stars just for that experience!

From the moment we pulled up, friendly staff attended to our every need. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed and comfortable. The views of the desert and mountains...breathtaking. We especially enjoyed the pools. Of special note was staff member Alexa who made us feel like we were at home away from home. She had the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for comfort, beauty and a no-hastle get away.

Room Tip: Besides being a great destination in and of itself, the LaPaloma is within easy driving distance to...
