Stayed at this lovely resort April 24-27, 2014 with a group of about 40 people. There was a large fundraising event on the 26th and a wedding in the AM. We had great service, great food and the concierge desk was particularly helpful in planning an exploring day at the Desert Museum.
Our only disappointment was the Saturday brunch was only good, not as great as the other meals.
the property is beautiful - pool area great for families with big water slide. Also an adults only area with hot tub and waterfall. Lots of tennis courts. The Spa is big, great people. I had the signature facial and really enjoyed it all, especially the massage. You might run into a celebrity there too!

Room Tip: You will want to check out the air-conditioning on-off noise. Luckily the days turned cool, we opened our patio door and left the A/C off. Kids can be noisy too- so a room away from the family pool is good.

When you book your reservation make absolutely sure there isn't a large group conference in facility. If so, you are not considered a valued consumer. Upon my arrival and after check in I am informed Pool is closed at 1pm. I can go to country club pool?! No cocktail or food service. Two days later pool bar closes early at 5pm, poolside staff has been completely inattentive for several hours. Had to go to pool bar to order own food and cocktails after waiting for staff. They never walked by. Bartender was lovely. Staff at poolside last call at 5 pm (? Really?) when min of 50 people were arriving. Poolside waitress tells people behind me at 5:10pm, who have been sitting under cabana for two hours, that cabanas are reserved only and they need to move! What ? Your bar has closed, where have you been for last few hours. I will seek out another resort upon my next visit. I will also inform my extended Tucson resident extended family of my experience. Very very disappointing visit.

Thank you for having been our guest at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa. On the rare occasions when the resort pool area is utilized for an event, every effort is made to accommodate guests by leaving one or more areas available for our guests to continue enjoying. The inconsistency of service and helpfulness is concerning and will be a focus of our ongoing training to continue improving the experience of every guest. It would be a great opportunity to be able to welcome you back to the resort and provide you with a more typically flawless visit. I hope our team gets a chance to do so. Stay well, Glenn Sampert, General Manager

As a local resident living close to La Paloma, I often use the services and restaurant facilities at the hotel. I also encourage my out of town friends to stay there when they come to visit. All of my friends have been consistantly impressed with the hotel and its staff, particularly in the Azul Lounge. However last night while in the lounge with one of my friends that is a current La Paloma guest, we were very disappointed with our server. To start his demeanor was that of a person under the influence, his service was slow and infrequent and we actually saw him sitting with a guest at another table while we waited for our drinks and then later sitting cross legged on the floor in front of another group of guests. I was shocked to the the point that I was embarrassed for the first time in twenty years to have recommended this hotel. As a retiree I don't have any need for the Childrens Lounge however maybe this server would be better suited there if he wants to sit cross legged on the floor. I enjoy the casual dining, but I will go to Famous Sam's if I want that level of casual service. I am still overall impressed with the hotel, and do not want to blame the many for the errors of the few, or the one in this case.

Thank you for having been our guest at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.
The service standards of the resort certainly do not allow for this type of familiarity, as you witnessed from other interactions with our associates. Our team will raise awareness among all our associates about the negative impression that the behavior of one can have, and how it impacts all our team members. I hope you will be back soon to enjoy our typically warm and appropriate service and accommodations. Be well, Glenn Sampert, General Manager

Great views and friendly staff. Always super clean and tidy, efficient and friendly service, and great food both at the restaurant and when ordering room service. The pool is awesome with a couple different areas; one adult only, the other couple are kid friendly. One has a really great waterslide for the children.

Workout facility is small but does the trick. Lots of tennis courts and a great golf course. I will say the resort is HUGE and it could take you about 10 mins to walk from your room to the main lounge and pool area.

Views of the Catalina foothills are awesome (you are nestled near the bottom) and sunsets are exquisite in the desert.

Rooms are tidy, well appointed and beds are comfortable. Neighbor noise is almost nonexistent (and that is usually my number one complaint).

Room Tip: H & I are secluded and far from main lobby with great views of the hills and city below.
