Owner description: The Paseo del Rio is San Antonio's favorite attraction. You can shop, dine, lounge in a cafe, or simply stroll along and let the strumming mariachi soothe your spirit.

This extensive development has historical significance as well as being a modern day place for entertainment, great eateries, and strolling to see the people, Mariachi bands, shops and gardens - by day or by night - eye candy!

Best Togo during the spring or fall, but even in mild south Texas winters, this is a good place to go. summers can be hot hot hot, so be forewarned! Light clothing and sunscreen plus lots of hydration! (non alcoholic!). Save the night time when the sun goes down for Margaritas and Cervezas!

This is a great getaway for a fun weekend! Be sure and take a historical boat tour to learn about the compelling history and development of this really unique place in the world! Enjoy!

The Riverwalk is a great place to experience, if you are a tourist. We live here (but not always) & we NEVER get downtown to the Riverwalk. Everything is very expensive on the RW & since it is below street level in the summer it gets INCREDIBLY hot! There's not a huge area to walk because you are walking on the sides on the river so in the summer months when there are lots of tourists it gets very cramped & crowded. There are no safety rails or anything to keep you from falling in, don't worry if you do it's not deep at all. I'd say somewhere between 3-5 feet. So if you have kids, please watch them closely.

We choice to get an all day pass (24 hour) river Taxi. Great value to see the Riverwalk, once during the day and once at night going to dinner. It's not a guided tour but you do get to see so much more of the riverwalk.

The River Walk is San Antonio's primary attraction, and the way to take it all in is by boat ride. The price is reasonable and the boat operators/tour guides are great.
