“A Midweek Visit is a Leisurely Stroll Surrounded By History”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

We have visited The Alamo and Riverwalk many times; usually during the week which is less crowded.

It is a fun and interesting location for a fine Texas visit. Plus, the river boat is a nice leisurely ride which is surprisingly reasonably priced.

When visitors come from out of town, the first to see is The Alamo, and Riverwalk.

Never disappointing, and restaurants on the Riverwalk during these less crowded visits have always been excellent.

A visit to Texas without seeing The Alamo or Riverwalk is like eating Mcdonald's instead of TexMex.

“people watching over a beer or two”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Many restaurants and bars, with lots of choice!
I ate at a number of different places (mexican, texan, etc), all of which offered good service.

“Name me one person who doesn't like the Riverwalk?”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Riverwalk is just plain addictive. Whether you visit because of business, pleasure, group, family, couple or single, you won't be bored at the Riverwalk.
There are so many colorful shops, restaurants, boutiques, bars and cafes to choose from, all facing the winding waters of the Riverwalk. You're quite apt to find strolling Mariachi bands entertaining you at your outside table, where you'll feast on savory cuisine from many countries as well as wonderful Texas favorites like Texas Republic or Lone Star.

Take a canal boat ride to catch a glimpse of all there is to see and do. Some serve meals if you prefer. And, a water taxi offers a great way to hop on and off all day or evening.

The excitement livens up as the evenings grow late, and oftentimes you need to wait to get into a venue such as the famed Coyote Ugly - but it's worth it.

Riverwalk is a people-watching kind of place - everyone seems happy, relaxed and friendly. Have a feeling you'll enjoy it also!

“not for strollers...”
Reviewed 22 April 2012

Baby strollers, that is. Single file walking on weekends. Not great for families w/little kids. Not great on weekends if you want a leisurely stroll along the river. You feel a little hustled along & like there are people always on your heels, but if its restaurants & a San Antonio feeling you want, the Riverwalk is the place to go.

“"THE" River Walk”
Reviewed 22 April 2012

San Antonio has done a lot of work to extend the River Walk, and it shows. Invest in a boat ticket, and take the Museum Reach ride.
