Owner description: There are two things just about every child in San Antonio has done — visited Brackenridge Park and taken a ride on the Brackenridge Eagle Miniature Train. It'll take you on a scenic tour of the park, so you can rest your feet and enjoy the ride. It is also one of the longest miniature train rides in the world, covering 3.2 miles of track and taking guests to many stops around the park such as the zoo, sunken gardens, and the Witte Museum.

“Great for Small Kids”

The train takes riders on about a 20 minute ride from the zoo, around Brackenridge park, stops at the Witte and golf course, then drops off again at the zoo. The train can also be used to travel from the zoo, to the Witte, and back again. A good way to spend half an hour in downtown San Antonio.

“For the kid in everybody!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014

During our second visit to San Antonio we found Breckenridge Park...more importantly we found the train! Boy was it fun. We got there at 9am and were greeted by several other families anxious for the ride to begin. The 20 minute ride went by very quickly. We really enjoyed the river crossings and the friendly waves from those we rode by. Of course getting to scream in the long tunnel was fun for the kid in everybody! Can't wait to go back and do it all over again. Keep in mind that you can get off at each of the stops and reboard for free. I recommend getting off at the Japanese Tea Garden to enjoy its beauty.

“This is a ride for both tourists and locals”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2014

This ride has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. I remember growing up in San Antonio and a trip to the zoo always meant a ride on the Brackenridge Eagle. What a treat. This has been the longest miniature railroad ride in the US or the world for as long as I can remember. Ride through the water crossing, across the San Antonio River, by the driving range, polo field, all the picnic areas, the museum and the zoo. A lot to see along the way. You can buy a ticket and get off at the museum or other various stops and get back on later to return to the station. The trains are well maintained and serviced and the drivers pay close attention so that all riders are safe during their ride. The price has gone up over the years but the enjoyment of the ride is still there for young and old alike.

“Good Conductor and nice Train Ride”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2014

It was a beautiful day and the train ride was nice. They make several stops throughout the ride; the playground area, the museum, and the Japanese Tea Garden in addition to going over the San Antonio River. The conductor was very knowledgeable and offered tidbits of information throughout the ride.
